I hope and pray this helps many of you suffering for a long time. I suffered from this since November of 2023. It first started small then overtook half the bottom of my face. It burned, itched and tingled. I tried almost every natural remedy which may have made it worse. I also was prescribed metro-gel for my family doctor which made it even worse as well. The only things that worked were plan greek yogurt overnight on my face to stop the itching and I purchaed canestan external cream (2% clotrimazole cream) which is an Anti Fungal. My doctor told me that if its not caused by bacteria then its caused by a fungus. It has been 3 full days and my PD is almost Entirely healed (90%). I expect it to be fully gone by day 5. Please if any of you are frustrated then try it. I apply it 3 times per day God bless.

I’m the same, also 46, convinced it’s my fluctuating hormones plus piling on anti ageing products in recent years. Had mine about 6 months now and just keeps getting worse. Been using clindamycin gel for nearly a month now and no real improvement. My skin is so dry and tight it hurts to eat and even the few patches of skin that don’t have spots are a horrible texture.. I’m going to go back to my docs this week and ask for oral antibiotics and hope and pray this works. I feel like I’m being dramatic and superficial but this is having such a detrimental effect on my self confidence and my mental health 😢

My doctor prescribed me Taro-Fusidic Acid antibiotic cream and Auro-Clindamycin 300mg to take every 6 hours. I don't know exactly what caused my flare up to be really bad this year, but I'm using gentle gel-cleansers, cera-ve night facial moisturizer and natural toothpaste that has no SLS, mint or fluoride. I used some of the antibiotic cream for a couple of days and already I'm seeing improvements. I made sure they were not a steroid cream. Do you think this will work for my perioral dermatitis?

Hello! I was prescribed Clindamycin 1% / Tretinoin 0.025% gel. But I have adhd and I kept forgetting to apply! I then lost the tube! This was a few months ago. Now I have used it, will it no longer be affective if I try again because my skin will have built up resistance? Thank you! X
@TeawithMD2 ай бұрын
It will still be effective and your skin doesn’t build up resistance to it. Good luck!

Been dealing with this for 6 months now… I’ve been using clindamycin gel which just seems to dry out the affected area, have been using for about a month now and no real improvement, so am going to try and get oral antibiotics this week. I switched to an oil free moisturiser but even that flares it up and the tightness/dryness/scaliness is driving me crazy… it hurts to yawn and eat and my mental health is suffering as a result, this condition is so miserable 😢 is there a moisturiser you would recommend? I’m based in the uk.

Try Avene Aoxitive water cream and a zinc soap for the antifungal properties. This is what helped mine.

Mine just won't heal. I've tried everything you mentioned in the video and it keeps raging - has been really bad for a year or so. It gets better for a few weeks but then flares HORRIBLY. I don't know what to do =( Could it be coming from the gut?
@user-pm9fm1dk9v3 ай бұрын
Yes!! Try a clean diet and get off gluten and dairy and sugar as much as you can…drink apple cider vinegar every day (bragg’s brand), and get on a GOOD probiotic (Garden of Eden has a few reasonable priced ones but a more expensive one may be better) Also include omega 6 in your diet (fish oils try Barleans Omega in Orange Cream Swirl from Vitamin Shoppe) and use Cetephyl Sensitive face wash and try Cera V PM lotion. Don’t over moisturize…and keep your face out of sun as much as you can. Also try juicing! ❤❤❤

I had PD for over a year. The thing that helped me was eliminating milk, washing my face with 10% sulfur wash, and covering inflamed area with a thin layer of Sudocrem (UK version). In the morning, I wash with water, use dermacalm face lotion, and beauty by earth SPF. It’s finally clearing up! Thank God 🙏🏼 hope that helps :)

I’ve read links to gut health so have been taking a pre/probiotic religiously, my diet is pretty clean I eat well, no processed crap, healthy fats etc. Still no improvement but I’ve been taking the pre/probiotics for 2-3 weeks so will persevere. I’ve also read about sudocrem helping, does it help out with the dryness/soreness?

Thank you for this Dr. Joyce. I've also seen videos about yeast imbalance in the same triangle of trouble 😆 and the symptoms appear pretty much the same. How do you determine which is which?
@TeawithMD5 ай бұрын
Yeast can cause conditions like seborrheic dermatitis (facial dandruff) which mostly appears around the nose, more scales and less bumps, and also pityrosporum folliculitis which is fungal acne. It can be hard to differentiate so a derm can help with that!
