I participated in GALA 2012 in Quarryland Men's Chorus. While performing at GALA was an astounding experience, being present at Heartland's show drove home what this all really means. As a straight ally, I initially felt unsure of my role but resolved to open myself up to whatever the experience gave to me. During this performance, I was astonished to find myself moved to helpless tears along with everyone who was there; love and loss, grief and triumph are universal. What a moment.

I teared up again watching this and remembering the effect it had on me and every one around me. What a wonderfully heartfelt performance. I won't ever forget this moment in my life either.

I too just teared up again. I heard and saw this at the GALA festival in Denver . This is so tragic. We need to let the youth around you know that we are here to help. Life does get better!

John Denver's wonderful composition performed so movingly. This chorus would have made him proud.
