The issue is Intel doesn't make products anyone wants. They don't make ai chips, they don't make good desktop chips anymore and they don't make good server chips and their foundry isn't being used. They have been replaced

Pat Gelsinger's vision for hybrid core architecture has proven highly effective for AI applications. It's arguable that the board's decision to replace him was premature, potentially hindering Intel's progress in this critical area.

Depending on if Battlemage is exactly as promised. They could really undercut Nvidia's lower tier discrete desktop products. And with the massive price inflation of Nvidia's mid to high tier products, maybe they could undercut the 70 series cards in the future. Obviously this is peanuts compared to thier other businesses, but it's the one currently stepping up to the plate.

Two CEOs, likely one for chip design and one for the foundries. Now maybe a good time to buy the stock, as the company is likely going to split (two CEOs is a pretty good indicator of the company will eventually split into two companies). Intell does make the best CPUs in the world. Yes they did make a strategic mistake by not designing high-end GPUs. However, Intel does have the talent to catch up and pass all of the chip designers. Was hoping that the stock would drop to 10 before I bought it back, actually sold it and bought Nvidia in place of Intel a while back, because no matter how many years I held it Intel stock for the most part was always in the '30s and I wasn't making any money. Intel is likely going to make a tremendous comeback and be competitive again, I was just hoping the stock would drop lower before buying it back.

this guy's full of $hit. Pat didn't even get the gov money. it was almost delivered. Intel got a lot less money than was agreed to as well. Yes, Nvidia has done very well....good leadership and choices etc....but Intel suffered from the board making many bad choices before they invested in Gelsinger. They needed to let the horse run....stay the course. As it is, they might have to sell off the company.

I think Intel may spin off it's manufacturing department and then give up the competition in advanced process chip manufacturing. After all, Intel no longer has enough cash to continue participating in this money-burning up game. It is better to focus on improving the process below 10 nanometers. The United States will decouple from China anyway. Intel concentrates on manufacturing mature processes and cooperates with Trump's tariff policy on China, which can completely drive Chinese chips out of the U.S. market and allow the United States to realize its dream of not using Chinese chips at all.

Yep if intel wants power in the long run it has to align with the us govt now!
@rw080911 күн бұрын
Intel needs to do a few things: 1.) offload the chip foundry plants as a separate entity, 2.) license ARM and focus on chip designs, 3.) build a GPU line, 4.) buy some quantum chip companies, 5.) build bulletproof software managing all the chip functionality, 6.) focus on crafting a reasonably priced line of high-power, standard, and energy-efficient chip offerings for each industry.

Except 4), that's just a bubble. But maybe that's what some investors would like to see.
@rw080911 күн бұрын
@ it’s not a bubble. There are billion-fold performance gains of calculating formulas using 1-64 qubits instead of using traditional 0-1 bits. Check into it.
@rw080911 күн бұрын
@ in addition, the valuations in the quantum space are in the millions. A mere pittance. How is that a bubble when nvidia is in the trillions?
@shermc458711 күн бұрын
@@rw0809 That is not how quantum works. It is not 64 vs 2. Part of reason Pat got fire is he try to turn around Intel like he got ample time and money to do so. Now with drying up resources and US government gorilla on its back, you want Intel to spent more money on more projects? Intel is dying on its own without your help. Also, offload foundry is not an option once Intel took government bailout. The bailout money will be doom of Intel
@Seriouspatt10 күн бұрын
@@rw0809 NVDA makes HUGE profits and none of those quantum computing bubble-companies turns a profit afaik. And of course, I'd argue NVDA has been fueling the current bubble and is massively overvalued. They have been in the perfect place at the perfect time thanks to Jensen but the other tech companies are all coming for them and it's just a matter of time at this point until their margins and profits will sink. It's unsustainable but it's hard to bet against the stock. Quantum computing is much easier to call. It's a bubble, I've seen plenty of bubbles in my lifetime and if that isn't one, I don't know what is.
