The order is ridiculous. The top six without a doubt have got to be Sobers, Kallis, Botham, Kapil, Imran and Hadlee. They are the greatest ever allrounders. Way after them come the others. Flintoff before Kapil and Jadeja before Hadlee has got to be a joke. In fact Jadeja shouldn’t even be on the list.

Sobers was really a batsman who could bowl a bit. He would never had been in a team as a bowler. As his bowling average and strike rate proves. Jacque Kallis should be number one. Ian Botham a genuine all rounder, who won test matches with bat and ball. Kapel Dev should certainly not be ahead. Bradman only played in Australia and England. I wonder what his batting average would have been, if he had played on the sub continent. Or West Indies and South Africa.

Which is what I have said all along. He is an all-time great quick, not an all-time great all-rounder. Of those four, he was clearly the best bowler and clearly the worst batsman. Imran was the the standout allrounder, Botham had some great moments and Kapil was bloody good but not really in that class.

There are two types of all-rounders, batting all-rounders and bowling all-rounders. People mostly follow those bowling all-rounders whose bowling figures are world class and their batting average is equal to an average batsman. So separate the two categories and don't mixed them.

Kallis and Sobers ( they have test batting averages in the top 20 OF ALL TIME) batsmen with their bowling a bonus) bowling a bonus which makes them batting all rounders vs bowling all-rounders, Hadlee, Khan and Pollock, who has bowling averages comparing well with the great test bowlers selected on that discipline mainly. Players like Dev, Macmillan and the others have average statistics on both counts

Easiest way to compare all rounders is the difference between batting and bowling. This leaves a clear top two (Sobers and Kallis) and next level Khan and Miller). It also shows Hadlee is way too low on this list.

Heavily weighted in favour of batters who could bowl rather than bowlers who could bat... Order should be: 1. Khan Miller Sobers Kallis Hadley Hard to compare the two types of allrounders, Hadley the best of these as a bowler whilst Kallis the best with the bat but Khan would have made the side on the strength of solely his batting and his bowling makes him the best. Likewise Miller hence why second. The rest were either selected for their batting or bowling but more than useful with the other. Sobers is a hard one, easily the most accomplished sportsman ever in Cricket, could do it all. Hos bowling average at 34 means however he would have been less likely picked just for his bowling.

Crains and Ben stokes were also not the main lead bowlers of their team at any point of time.. and neither have won matches solely on their bowling abiliity for their team in test cricket.. same holds for Sobers and kallis.. Tony greig doesn't qualify for the list. The top 6 shud be very very close competition.. I am not rating them in serial order.. but randomly it shud be Imran Khan, Ian Botham, Keith Miller, Kapil Dev, Richard Hadlee, Shaun Pollock.. followed by Gary Sobers, Andrew flintoff, vinoo mankad and jack kallis.

Garfield Sobers made the West Indies team as a 17yr old leg spinner who evolved into a fast or medium fast bowler who took the new ball &bowled multiple types of deliveries including the difficult to bowl Googly&was in the habit of removing very troublesome batsmen ,I believe his batting developed at a faster pace than his bowlingso he became what is now defined as a batting alrounder still he took over 200 wickets in Test cricket. Generally, an all-rounder is considered to be one who is world class in one field and not below the average category in another field. So a batting all-rounder should have three wickets plus per Test match and a bowling average of around 29 to 30 which is that of an average bowler. And a bowling all-rounder should have a batting average of around 32 to 35 which is that of an average batsman.

Imran was a better batsman than Kapil and a much better bowler. Kapil played for a long time and stayed injury free, but was at best a workhorse / stock bowler. Imran was a killer, and was the best bowler in the world for a large part of the 80's, in addition to being a very good batsman mostly in the latter half of the 80's.

Don't count the quantity and you should count only quality. Just like Bumrah whose bowling average better than Kapil dev but number of wickets much lesser. And I consider Bumrah is the best bowler of Indian Cricket history. I hope you got my point dear brother.

First of if one is not capable of being selected in the only on the basis of his bowling he is not an all rounder at all. Gary sobers and jack kallis cannot be chosen in their teams only for bowling hence they were not all rounders they were just great batsmen and support bowlers.
