There was a one day only Train Swap meet at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds near Dayton, Ohio on September 10, 2023. These are the bargains I found. Yay! Savings AND Fun!

Fun video Bob, and in true show-business style you left us wanting more! Looks like it was a great show, and from what I could see there were some pretty good deals to be had. And that was a great score on your part on those B&O F3's! $150 too much for a toy? I'll tell you what (and maybe you know) backin in the 1990's that F3 set would have been selling for $300. If you love post-war Lionels nows your time, except for "brand-new-in-the-box" articles post-wars have gotten very reasonable. Thanks for bringing us along, and I loved the music! Very appropriate for post-war hunting! 🤩

Dang Wayne. I’m having a pretty good day but your nice words made it even better. I hope you’re having a good day too!

When I was a child I used to play at a neighbor's house and their basement and they had a huge three-tier Lionel setup on a U-shaped table one of the engine sets that they had was the 1953 B&O I'd always wanted one of my own still do as far as I know those trains are still there but that was a long time ago Thanks for the Memories

Great music. Great video. Great deal on B&O and Docksider. I picked up an employee blue one in DC a few years ago.

I like the bargain basement $140 price you arrived at on the ABA engine F3. No restoration necessary on such fine, clean purchase.😊😊

Love the CG&E Trains. I fell in love with the B&O Trains from there also! Although I prefer S Scale I would buy O Scale B&O passenger trains myself!

I bet a lot of people like B&O because of those Christmas trains. 👍🏻🎄

Carl basically gave you those F units lol! Looks like it was a great show!

I’ve seen Carl at other train shows and he is such a nice guy. He makes me want to do something nice for somebody else. You know, the Pay It Forward sort of thing. 😀

Scored! Great deal on the ABA, Bob. It's tempting to pull out the plastic at the shows but sometimes, I've left empty handed. I may have a problem 😁

I know what you mean. I really struggled about buying the F-3s. I felt guilty all the way home but I really like them now.

@@bobsworkshop5181 I'm 57 and sacrificed raising three kids and a stay at home wife so I feel that I deserve to buy a nice train or thirty. But, that guilt thing...😁

@@joeystrains.9316 - I was at a train show in April and, like Wayne said above, I saw some deals on Postwar Lionel, like $5 freight cars.

Ahh you were killing me with that Amtrak table! I would've had to pick up those superliners or something from there. Great find on those F3s. Have a good one

Jim, Jim, Jim. That’s just what I was thinking too until I stopped to think if I could make it different from the earlier one. I’m stumped right now. (But open to suggestions) I hope you and yours are well. 😀

@@bobsworkshop5181 - I my opinion, of all the European steam locomotives, the German steamers resemble American steamers the most. The British, French, & Dutch steamers all tend to have the hardware covered up, but the American and German steamers tend to have the hardware out in the open. For one thing, quite a few German steamers have the 'elephant ears" smoke deflectors.
@Petemonster6210 ай бұрын
@@bobsworkshop5181- Bob, another idea for a German steamer would be to paint it like the LGB G scale "Stainz" locomotive. Use light green on the cab, red trim for a stripe on the boiler and smoke box - just above the running boards, & black everywhere else.

@@bobsworkshop5181 How about a German Red Cross Engine. They use the color white more noticeably before placing the red cross over it ?? All eyes are on Leo in this part of the country. We're ready !! 👍

It’s very hard to fine a original Lionel B&O F3 from 1956 since there were only low quantities made of the both the engine and b-units
