Using Dog Salad has different dialogue when using it due to it recovering random HP, inspecting the Dog Residue also has different descriptions - not only that, throwing it away also has multiple dialogues.

I uploaded a much worse version of this video about 1 year ago. It took it down fairly shortly after, since it omitted loads of interesting details, and I straight up got a few things wrong! That video was rushed, and I decided that I needed to put down Undertale for a while, only to come back when I felt prepared for the proper deep dive these videos will require :)

To this day we are all still blown away when we have discovered Gaster’s secret room for the very first time and is what changed the fandom’s opinion on the Undertale/Deltarune lore forever. But at the same time I am glad it’s still active to this day just like how Sans and Spamton are still active at the same time.

An thing about dog salad is it is likely one of the most rng dependent mechanics in the game (outside of fun values of course). Dog residue has like 5 different info texts in the menu, has a random chance of getting dog salad when used, and that dog salad has four different amounts of hp it can restore. This amount of rng is unfortunate, because the infinite amounts of dog salad you can get makes many challenge runs possible. As dog residue works inside battles as well as outside, you can theoretically obtain and infinite number of healing items and never run out in a tough fight. This method, however, sucks in practice as dog salad can heal 2, 10, 30, or full hp at a completely random chance. I remember doing a run where I had my actions in battle picked by a random number generator, and this item became the key to beating Asgore but also the bane of my very existence at the same time.

about the goner kid, i think you holding the umbrella makes them feel better because even though it's not raining (or, the rain doesn't exist in this world at the moment) you're still holding the umbrella (or, you're still being 'affected' by the rain, or pretending that it's there). even though the rain doesn't exist, you're treating it as if it does. the goner kid sees you doing this, and enjoys the thought of someone caring about something that doesn't exist... i think they'd be very happy to know that people still check if they exist in worlds where they don't

I’ve heard quite a few theories about “Goner Kid”, one being he may be some forgotten sibling of MK and not a version of MK themself. Where you’d expect spikes to be on their head, you instead see something resembling a bow, and if you talk to them from an angle that shows the back of their head, you see these almost outlet-like protrusions I interpret as their actual spikes, which obviously MK doesn’t have. So it may be that this is some forgotten family member of MK the world just forgot about, and they’re miserable because their brother seems completely fine in a world where their sibling never even existed

Because of you I replayed undertale and after I finished the game I felt so many emotions, but most importantly I felt safe again. 30:48 IIRC this is outright false, as the cell box storage is disabled in this room. (You can use debug mode to force it open, but that's no different than cheat engine mentioned later)

That’s not exactly how the dog residue works. When you use it, it fills your entire inventory with dog residue, with each one having a smaller chance to be dog salad instead, which in itself heals a random amount. If you use it while your inventory is full, and the chance for it to turn into a dog salad doesn’t happen, it says that an uneasy atmosphere fills the room.

anyone else find the secret were you 1st use the bout in hotland to go back to water fall then,keep going back intel you make it to when you fall down on to flowers AGAIN,washowa is there waiting for you(there actually there just sorting the trash.) EDIT:i found this out by accident lol.

Perhaps the reason an Umbrella reassures Goner Kid is because, it doesn’t need to exist. There’s no rain, and if the Umbrella wasn’t there, the world would still go on without it, but it still exists and Frisk is still holding it, caring for it. That’s how I always interpreted it

If you somehow manage to take the dog with you and come into the temmie village you can sell it. temmie wants to get dog so bad temmie increases the amount of gold you get after handling temmie the dog. if you won t give temmie the dog, you will suffer.

Eyyyyy nother Gaster egg video after two years! I actually played Undertale Together with a friend of mine yesterday so Undertale and its secrets are fresh in my mind, let's see if you get anything I didn't! 3:03 Aaah I knew this dialogue existed, but I never knew how to get it- going back after getting through all the Flowers makes sense, especially since it means Flowey likely popped up behind you while you were interacting with the Flowers and rewrote them (while mimicking Toriel's voice). 3:46 I also didn't know the "It's strangely silent" was in Toriel's voice after either, but that's likely a bug. 6:01 Ooooh I didn't realize the implication of that! 6:40 Toby also apparently gave Arron such big muscles just to troll Temmie, who hates muscles. 9:30 I knew about the text for dropping the Quiche but I didn't know dropping an item in the room has that detail omg that's so sad. xD 10:12 Ah didn't catch that one, glad you were given a chance to point that out now. 31:06 Hah, and it did happen, didn't know you could pull this off in-game! 31:36 aosidjhas pffft I love that, didn't know the annoying dog still had Toriel's phone! 33:25 Wait what- I legitimately never knew you could backtrack with the umbrella and get unique dialogue that's great. 35:46 He gives you a discount????

The secrets in Deltarune related to Undertale: Darkness falls has Gaster's motif, the first three notes, also after Kris and Susie falls and the screen goes black you hear water before Kris wakes up and where you find Mystery man? In waterfall. I think there was also Umbrellas secret related to Undertale in Deltarune but forgot in which chapter.

Hey! Ik you might not see this, but I had a theory that maybe you'd want to check out for yourself? So in Deltarune, there's the room with the gint bird that shoots stars, the bell, and the Original Starwalker, the one you use to get to the egg room? It always seemed random to me, but I MAY have found something there. So this might be a stretch but: Birds? They have WINGS. Bells? they go DING. And star in greek? ASTER. Again, it might be a stretch, but it seemed too much of a coincidence for me. WING. DING. ASTER.

I supposed I would be remissed it I didn't mention the touhou reference Undyne is giving. Incidentally, Undyne's spear is a reference to Remilia Scarlet and her spear. Not only does Remilia's spear is thrown like Undyne's and spawn in like Undyne's, the name of Remilia's "spell card" or special attack in one of the fighting game spin offs calls that spear the "heart breaker". Let that sink in.

i know im a month late but the text says "the structures at its feet seem dry" before you place the umbrella. maybe those structures are what need water flowing to work, so the rain flows over the umbrella and drips on to those instead of the statue.
