Is it just me but making a “clean” game “dirty” like the other packs is way funnier than, playing the “dirty” packs. You have to put more effort into the jokes rather than just having it handed to you.

I don't agree with Jsoul's thoughts of the FNF popularity, do not get mad at people who just come by to watch, or people who become fledgling creators. I heard the later half and it sounded better, low quality and low effort shit is bad, yes. But people putting in heart or doing something great, even if you don't like it deserve respect at a baseline. Just as viewers deserve respect for being there. Also, Gonna let a little bit of my NG mentality come out here: People who got seriously discouraged by the fucking TIRCKY MOD doing harder numbers way faster (when the mod was also a tribute in it's own right) are fucking PUSSIES and they need to shut the fuck up, or get the hell out. There is NO reason to have that kind of mentality if you're a real animator, let alone a fan of Madness being in the community for so long. What kind of new age snowflake shit is this? That's not the shit a proper NG member would fucking say. Get over it. Do you, do your thing, and know it's gonna be badass and be appreciated, the hell you out here looking for millions of views for? did you forget what you're doing this for? where the fuck you came from? It's pathetic. ANYONE with that kind of mentality shouldn't be doing or saying anything, because your heart and your mind are NOT in the right place. What in the fuck happened to these people? Let's get back to doing things for the reason they were being done for, let's not forget what makes all of this special, and not tarnish it with that crap. Come on guys. Nut up.

It was kind of wild to be casually watching this after coming down from Krinkels' Madness Day part 2 stream and the premiere of MC12, and then actually seeing a clip I made for one of those early collabs (Neurosis 3 or Accumulation) you mentioned, that I hadn't seen in years. I belong to the same generation as Gabriel and LuckyLink but I was one of the ones you said who only really did it through their early teenage years before falling off and doing other things. Seeing that last minute skater kid OC with the jeans and white hoodie, that I whipped up to give some flair what was practically just a basic test animation of a grunt vs grunt. I mean you showed almost the entire clip there, because it was just a punch or two, swing to the side, more punches then a rifle out of hammerspace to finish it off badass 13 year old OC style. When I was around the scene I didn't really know how to craft a narrative and even here, where narrative isn't really necessary, I still didn't feel invested enough in spending hours of my days keyframing minute movements of a multi-sided fight. Only to have a 20 second long half-baked result. I took part in the earliest Madness Days via collabs and nonsensical shorts inspired by (to the best of my teenage brain's ability) Krinkels' early absurdist spin-off shorts, like the ones that used the meme faces, "Piss", "Crap", "Vomit", "Garbage" etc. But that's all my Madness fan animation career ever amounted to. On the side I managed to get some recognition in the early days for neatly organizing and compiling sprite sheets at a time where sprite sheets were often incomplete, thrown together and unorganized. One funny thing to mention regarding sprite sheets, and since you mentioned that no-one ever did a fan animation for Thing Thing. I did actually have a Thing Thing sprite sheet back in the day with the intention that one day I would use it and make a proper Thing Thing tribute, with a story and everything. I was probably going for something like an abridged retelling of the story of Thing Thing 1. But the idea was there and I might even have gotten as far as making some test animations with those sprites that I never ended up sharing like I would with my Madness tests, probably because the Thing Thing characters had quite a distinctly different "flow" of movement compared to the Madness Characters which might have felt like having to relearn animating the characters all over again. But anyway, since I've also been a musician since before even this stint I had with animation, I found much more joy in the process of producing music both at the time and in the time since. I posted a bit of music on Newgrounds back in the day but I wasn't really doing any Madness related music until last year, when I made my first news post in over 10 years to announce a Madness remix album (or really, the first in a series of remix albums) with some peculiar twists. The first twist being that for Vol. 1, I'm covering only some of the earliest music tracks used in Madness media, with only two of those being by Cheshyre (so basically covering most of the pre-Cheshyre side of things). The main twist being that it's not really Cheshcore, but branches out into some of my other obsessions within bass music and club music such as footwork. Got most of it done before last Madness Day then got the last two tracks done for this one. If you're interested, the full album is on my channel.

Since you mentioned Thing Thing, I've gotta recommend checking out the 500 CALIBER CONTRACTZ demo, the protagonist is actually based on the characters in Thing Thing (and it's very fun)

My big hope going forward is for berdly to be more than just a one off character. He’s appeared more in the newsletters then the other lightener sidecharacters, and exploring the consequences of the weird route through him either joining the party in the normal route and him being “saved” by one of the secret bosses and used like how the NEO schematics were used by Spamton. I really liked him being the annoying but fun side character and his character never “grew” it just flipped to the opposite end of the annoying spectrum by trying to be dumb instead of smart.

I find that Let Me Finish DRAGS when I play with my stream friends. We're usually a full 8 player game but everyone feels like they need to chime in every time. I think I've played just sitting there for like half an hour begging for the game to be over. ...yeah we're not fond of it. Other two are fine, great even, but Let Me Finish is a slog when you've got a full house.

As someone who came to madness through fnf, the only ones that make it that way are the 5 year olds who came to madness through fnf, but they came to fnf not for reasons that people like me did, those being good music and fun game, but because of those crappy kid channels introducing kids into newgrounds.

(Prefacing this by stating I haven't finished watching the video entirely yet) One of the hardest aspect of being part of this community is without a doubt being one of the few judges who every year decide the "winners" of Madness Day. Each passing year the private discussions get longer and longer with each member expressing just how difficult it is to choose since so many talented animators, composers, and artist always bring their best.
