@Pan Man How you managed to mess up the release date of a 15 year old game is beyond me, and while not a copy, the demoman in tf2 was obviously inspired by the old tfc demoman model, as heavy was likely inspired by the current tfc heavy model

Better Headcannon: The old models were the original 1930 Mercs but they were too competent at their jobs so they were sent to fight in WW2 and replaced with newer Mercs to continue the eternal Gravel War with no clear winner. The new Comic 7 basically debunks your "cannon" I'm sorry to say since the real war ended in the 30s-40s which means they were really the best team out of all the rest. Also the OG game models were based on Desert Storm gear which doesn't make much sense when they were added in the comics later on.

dragons fury is only short ranged, the tfc pyro had a rocket launcher like the tfc soldier, except that it did less damage, set people on fire, and didnt need to be reloaded. the flare gun only hits directly and doesnt explode on impact. the only thing that comes close is the scorch shot, but currently in tf2 its not as powerful, and it functions a bit different as the projectile bounces off enemies and explodes when it hits a surface or the ground. also it needs to be reloaded after each shot, following the design of tf2's flare guns

Well, it's a minigun, so overall design is bound to be similar. But its viewmodel still uses the old worldmodel's style. Same with nailguns. New worldmodels are surely upgraded old ones, but designs of viewmodels still doesn't all that much resemble new models.

TFC doesn't allow switching to third person since it's a multiplayer game, and that could give you an unfair advantage. You need to set "Max. players" value to 0 to trick the game into thinking this is a singleplayer session. And don't forget "sv_cheats 1", of course.
