Artorias would have been very different, and Gael would have never existed. Gwyndolin would have likely looked different, but fought similarly. There may not have been Bonewheel Skeletons. I don't think much else would have changed. I.e. Seath and Moonlight Butterfly may vaguely resemble Grunbeld and Rosine, and it's fun to call them that, but their actual powers and role in the story are far too different to say they were directly dependent. (Especially when giant moth creatures aren't unusual in Japanese media: Silent Hill 1 had a boss battle against a giant moth after you fight its larval form earlier.) If anything, I think the Drakengard series (and perhaps Nier by extension) owes *far* more to Berserk than Dark Souls does. The actual plotline of the first game has some really blatant parallels: that influence is subtler in others, but still present, especially in the supporting materials.

chester uses a different model than standard npcs, which is why he has all those special animations. making more npcs like chester would take a lot of time and coding, which is why it is usually only done for bosses.

I was screaming at Beatrice in the first match, she kept getting confused on where to face/what to block. So much rolling instead of Soul Arrowing. Lol. Really demonstrates that the Chosen Undead had some very solid companionship on his destined duty. I suppose Solaire is a Golden Phantom heh. Special boy. Guess it would have thrown off the look of things to have Gold Phantom Solaire in the mix with the whites, and Parasite-ridden Solaire with the reds. Rest in peace, for sure, for Miura. I'm quite sad that Berserk may never finish, but even sadder that the publishing company may try to continue it with Miura's assistant, and while I know the assistants will do their damnedest if that is the case, we all know it won't quite be the same. There's a void in storytelling now, and we're going to need some stitches with a surgeon to sew it back up. Yet, we will always have the flame of inspiration that Miura incidentally passed on to all of us through his work. We lit our torches at his fire to see our own dreams, never forgetting where that flame came from.
