Absolutely epic little hot hatch! I’ve come from a 2015 Mini JCW to a mid specced ST2 with the performance pack and I’m not disappointed! The handling blows the JCW out of the water and in terms of performance, there little to choose between the 2 ! In fact, I suspect the ST would beat the JCW on twisties !! These special editions are lovely but ultimately whichever ST you get you’re buying a future classic !!

I would rather floor a Challenge Stradale all day instead of light footing a Pista everywhere. This a theme I'm seeing everywhere now, more and more people prefer compact, nimble and usable over the f'n quick. Also the reason why the GR Yaris is loved by even Ferrari collectors, it's refreshing for those guys to have something they can actually use. Same with the Fiesta ST, everyone appreciates its usability! I drove a 1.0 Ecoboost one and even that was fairly fun to thrash 100% because of entertaining engine sound and good handling.

Really like hearing your technical insights in your review videos Sam 👍 I listened to your podcast with Robert Mitchell and heard that you were toying with the idea of trying out an MX-5 - Would be great if you can get in touch with BBR GTI (based in Bicester/Banbury area) who specialise in MX-5s. They have a 'Super 225' car which is based on the previous gen MX-5, with individual throttle bodies on their youtube channel and it sounds like a Ford Escort RS2000! They also have the current generation MX-5 car called the 'Super 220' which weighs around 100kg less than the Super 225 car too. Apologies for the long comment!

Good afternoon. Very illustrative video! It's been a little over 3 weeks since my ST arrived and I'm still shooting. I plan to do about 4000km before pushing it to the limit and I have a question about it: if I gradually increase 500 rpm every 1000km, should I also do it with the amount of gas? Right now I have only been 1000km and I have not stepped more than 1/2 gas. I hope I have explained myself well thanks to the Google translator. XD
@sammooresphoto3 жыл бұрын
Hi, my view on this is to thoroughly warm up the engine and car and then drive it as hard as you like. I think avoiding full gas and the top 2k revs or so for the first 1000km is sensible but the most important thing is warming up the car properly before you give it full beans.

Can only speak for the german market. Fully spected the car is nearly 34000€, discount realistically is around 29000 - 30000€, which is not that great. But a "standard" ST fully spected is around 31000€ going down to 27000€. The Edition is the "better" deal, if you want another suspension and other wheels anyway.
