I work for Ford and initially when we were called in for a meeting to first see the new shapes I was like mehh. Then when I finally got my hands on one (we get them gfot company cars) they are brilliant. Yes the back end needs to be a bit more aggressive but honestly the new shapes are brilliant. Higher build quality, the interior is spot on, voice control, apple car play, sat nav and a touch screen multi media system. The seating position is spot on. The suspension is not as firm. Ford have build the new gen for more mature people so they’re a lot more practical. With the LEDs and styling pack it looks👌🏻 AND it’s so much cheaper than a Polo GTI

This Fiesta ST is *a lot* of fun. I have it myself and my parents a 911 996 Carrera 4s. The fiesta with the diff held pretty good in slow & fast corners. As soon as you hit full throttle on the apex it just pushes you in and absolutely 0 understeering. Really happy, 11/10 car, would buy the mk9

Nice review - first one I've seen of yours Sid. I have been waiting for a decent video review since they announced it came out. Yours is the first that I like. I wanted to buy the old ST but just missed it so I've been waiting a year for the new one to come out. Relieved to hear it is as good/better 'cos I already ordered it!. Honestly, for me the important thing was the speed/handling but also the interior for music/google maps on the iPhone, which the old one didn't have but which in day to day life is really important. Looks like a B-Max at the rear, so not a huge fan of the styling. 1 less cylinder and a smaller capacity which is actually bad because the fiesta st community love to modify their cars and I doubt you'll see 300+ bhp from these. I imagine tuning options will be a bit more limited

If you take a look at what some tunners were getting from a 1.0 ecoboost 3 cylinder engine, then my guess is you'll get tunners getting 300bhp from this displacement. Though I do agree it will be limited for now, untill they develop better understanding for tuning capacity in terms of what can be done with a 3 cylinder turbo charged engine.

Great review Mate, Ford teased us about six months ago saying there were bringing the 3 door hatch & the 5 door but just decided to discontinue all of its Car line here in the USA, Pickups, SUV’s, & Crossovers, that Sucks, I have the 2014 ST with 52,000+ Miles and have loved every minute of it, has Visual and performance mods, it’s bad Ass, I just wanted to get the new one because of all the new amenities, especially the infotainment system & seats, it blows my Mind that Ford is an American founded company and Europe gets all the Cars they make and we get 💩💩, keep us posted on the accessories, i’d like to see what I’m missing. 😢

Sideways Sid Well I slapped The Pilot sport 4 my on my Car and they Stick like Glue . 235 40 18 previously had continental sport contact 5. They’re good also however the wear on them was bad As in didn’t last long . Can’t comment on how they last as of yet.

the pilot sport 4 is available as 205 / 40 R17 84 W. for the MK7.5 generation ST as well as ST200. I am driving Hankooks at the moment very good, but it could be better. have the original Bridgestones on my original ST200 wheels stored a way. But I think I will be switching to Michelin next year. I am looking into maybe installing a Qaife Dif. Is it really a must on the ST? And yes I occasionally do drive like a hoonigan on abandoned B roads. :-) And when it is really wet I need to keep the throttle back a bit because I even spin in 2nd gear easily when accelerating.

Neo VeNoM I’m also considering having the Quaife diff fitted to My 2014 Focus ST, It’s tuned to around 300bhp not dyno tested but sold as 300 kit. I Love the extra power on the move the torque is very juicy but even in 4th gear flooring it can pull the car all over the Place and cornering with extra torque requires a Delicate right foot, and my traffic light starts are history . Unless I light up the tyres .

OIanO in Sweden we don't have the st 1 2 3 but it is basically a 3 with performance pack with led headlights and the sunroof. It's in the new colour silver fox 😊 I don't have a good date yet. Has been a holiday this weekend here so I hope that dealer has more info the coming week. But the time is a pretty long wait afaik

Thanks for replying. I had a Fiesta ST for 4 years in spirit blue and still miss it even since moving onto a Golf R (content on that on my channel). I think if I was to change the R it would only be for a 2016 5 Door Mk7.5 Fiesta as for a 2 year old car it would have reduced quite a lot in price with the new Mk8 coming out and the small facelift revisions in 2016 improved the ride quality a bit as well as reducing the gear ratios. Potentially down the line then moving onto a Mk8 Fiesta ST after the hype has passed :-)Do you think you will replace your ST for a Mk8?

The new infotainment system is a big improvement. Thanks for the review. I live in a country where the vaunted Ford hot hatches are not available, so reviews like this make me sort of live the experience by proxy even though I end up green with envy. Well done! I do have a next closest thing: a Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost with lowered sports suspension, (and ST bodykit) which is quite playful and entertaining especially compared to the boring many (read: japanese cars). However I do agree with you and other mk7/7.5 fans/owners that the new rear end look too pedestrian. I also prefer the wheels, side skirt, spoiler and rear diffuser of the old ST to this new one.

Sadly the day is not coming with Ford shutting down small car sales in North America and other markets where their pickups, SUVs and crossovers outsell their small cars like here. We may never even see these next generation Fiesta and Foci. Therefore, the only performance Ford to look forward to is the Mustang (uh review pls?) ... though Im not fond of cars with long bonnets, having had a Nissan Silvia before. Not ideal for tight urban maneuvers and nosing out other cars in traffic gridlock melee. Of course there is the Golf GTI (but a generation late), or used Peugeot 208 GTI

Great quality video and review! I disagree with your dismissal of the Abarth but the American spec car is slightly different and much cheaper than what you guys get. No fiesta or focus ST for us on this side of the pond anymore.

Good vid sid, the new Fiesta looks a good drive, and I agree with the 3 cylinder, it does make a great noise, glad ford got the engine right.
