Hi, I studied here in the UK and am on post study visa and I got married May this year. I am Nigerian and my husband is Bulgarian. Do I need to authenticate my marriage certificate and if yes how do I do it because I have been calling the Nigerian Immigration number I saw online but nobody picks up, I sent email but no response either.

Where did you get married? If you got married in Nigeria it’s also valid here in the uk. And if you got married via the registry here in the uk, it’s also valid, I don’t understand why you need to authenticate it because it’s a valid document

My husband has just done an apostille on his own certificate and said I should find out from my Embassy if I need to do one. That's why I've been calling but no one answers

@@okoriegloria7183 I don’t know what that means. My husband has Bulgarian origin also but we didn’t do any authentication. The uk marriage certificate is recognised anywhere except there are exceptions am not aware of
