You don't really have such luxury 😅 Well you can actually keep clicking on a particular hostel if you want it so much, Lemme tell you my best hostel. I really like Akintola and Akpabio halls because of the ginger and vibes that comes with the hostel, tho it can get really noisy. I like Bello hall as a pharmacy student because my course mates are there, making it easier to do assignments and co. Mary slessor is kinda like the big girls hostel , but their bathroom and toilet is zero ( in my opinion), there are also connected to VC's office, so they always have light. Okpara and balewa also always have light because they share Education faculty gen. Nkurumah hall is if you want to live in the hostel, but make it feel like you live off campus ( that's another world on its own). The remaining hostels are as normal as normal can get🤷‍♀️

@@adaezekwelu7727 omo to be honest, this is the first time am hearing, they share light with VC in hostel, I thought it was a normal thing to have light in the hostel abi school, coming from a UNILAG background light was 24/7 until after covid 19, they introduced new rules, so they turn off the lights from 9 in all the rooms but there would be light in the hostels at the porters lodge, office and the common room because every hostel has a common room because every hostel has a common room like a relaxation place where any student in the hostel can come and watch TV and use Wi-Fi and yes did I mention there's Wi-Fi in all the faculties and every hostel in the school and also around the senate building there's Wi-Fi virtually everywhere, it all now boils down to strengths, like the Wi-Fi in your hostel might not be as strong as the one in your faculty and so on but believe me you can do unlimited downloads and crazy streaming all you have to do is login with your student email and password and if you're a staff, your staff email and password, so about the light stuffs, after they turn off lights in the rooms, they bring it back by 3pm, this is just a way of forcing students out of the hostel because am sure there has been various reports of people just staying in the hostel pressing phones and laptops but when there's no light your devices can barely last, any how you'll sha just want to leave the hostel, but some hard headed people would rather carry sockets to the porters lodge but how long can you stand and some times they'll chase you away, they only pity you when you're unable to complete your cooking before they turn off the lights in the room and kitchen because we only use hot plates(electric cookers to cook) in unilag, gas, stove or any other thing is not allowed, even coming home for holidays I use to get frustrated when they take light because it's very unusual to me, About the hostel too to be honest the worse hostel in UNILAG will be having number 1 spot in UNN for boys hostel that is Eni-Njoku Hall talking of boys hostel, I stayed in Biobaku hall all my years in UNILAG and that's like the cleanest boys hostel at least referring to the most public and cheap ones, the more luxurious ones include shodeinde which had undergone renovation in recent year and the newly renovated and NUGA games launched El-kernemi hall and the newly constructed ones of 2023 I've included links to pictures of Biobaku hall below a day view and a night view. The different between Ghana and Nigeria is Nigeria is very very big way bigger than Ghana so definitely the government can't just seat down and start going through which university is clean or not and besides that's a federal hostel if you want a squeaky clean hostel you should check out a private hostel

You have abundant of Oil and population have positive effect on Economy… one of the reason why your music and movie industry is doing well is your numbers and economy… our government is corrupt but it looks like yours don’t care at all . And Our government hostels are still okay , you can’t leave everything for the private sector or else the poor will suffer. NOTE : Nigeria has the biggest Economy in Africa !
