I- The cracks in her body getting more prominent w/ each man she meets, Henry's statue crumbling before her like her status when she was being accused, and her running/avoiding the falling debris of the statue like the legend saying she was running in the halls screaming for Henry's mercy. Good sir/madam, this is immediately one of my favorite animatics of this song.

She actually practiced laying her head on the block several nights before her execution so it could be quick and painless, but Henry actually got a unskilled executioner to wield the axe when removing her head, so it took multiple hits to completely separate her head form her body.

I like this animatic a lot for several different reasons. 1. Katherine seems annoyed/disgusted with the men involved with her when she was younger, whereas in most animatics Katherine seems happy-ish with her older decisions up until the end 2. I like how her younger selves start to realize that what's going on isn't fun anymore towards the end 3. The lineart is so smooth??? what???? 4. The parts with animation is so nice?? I've only seen a couple animatics for this song with animation and this is probably my favorite! 5. I also like how everyone except current Katherine are statues. Great work!!!

I just love how throughout the whole video, K looks disgusted, upset, and just not enjoying her walk down memory lane despite the bubbly, playful tone of the song. I know what she went through was bad and that shes not going to be enjoying remembering it, but i personally think k is forcing a playful tone through her sadness which actually highlights the tragedy that happened to her. What really broke me was her conversations with her younger statues. How, when talking to her 13-year-old self, the 13-year-old was happy and blushing and filled with childish hope that she'd found her true love. Later, with her slightly older self, the slightly older version stopped Katherine from moving forward, saying that Francis IS the guy for me. I'm older now, and I can see that. Please, let me do this. (Which the slightly older Katherine immediately regrets after admitting the corset line) By the time Katherine's in Henry's court, she's completely exhausted. She doesn't want any more chemistry, but when Henry says "Love" she knows that it's just gonna happen again. She doesn't resist. There's no hope or passion in her actions, and she knows she had it all wrong her whole life. But. What I found really cool is that the real Katherine is drawn to Thomas. SHE'S the one who goes to him, and actually looks happy to see him. Happy to have one friend as an outcome of all of this. Kind of reminds me of how historical Katherine Howard said she'd much rather be Thomas's wife than Henry's right before she was beheaded. Anyway, I absolutely love this animatic. You knocked it out of the park and the animated bits were AMAZING!! Plus all the backgrounds, detailed lineart and everything else are so well made, and the ending really made me feel things after seeing all her heads on the ground. Poor baby. She only wanted love.

The only issue with this sadly, is that Thomas was also a manipulative abuser and predator in his own way. Where even despite the seemingly "damning" love letters, there is consider that Thomas might have known about Kathrine's sexual history, the men she was with previously, and could have very well have blackmailed her to write the letters. Plus, again, she was still a teenage girl only 17... And Thomas was her older adult cousin. Really, none of the men in Kathrine's life were good people. They were all adult men who used, sexually abused, manipulated, and even raped a teenager in a time where there would have been no recourse. Made worse because so many historians would present her as a sexually promiscuous woman, blaming the victim. A child of grooming, exploitation, sexual abuse, and rape.

I love the drastic difference between your takes on Anne and Katherine’s executions. Anne fell downwards into a crowd of people, including her daughter, and smiling for her poem and her daughter as she was executed. But Katherine ran through the crumbling statues of her past and ended up at the top of a tower where no one was there (not even the executioner), signifying her loneliness, and was dignified when the axe came down, like how she practiced IRL.

I love the symbolism! I see it as Katherine walking through an art gallery of her past, when she realizes the memories slowly becoming more and more cracked/messy. She starts growing uncomfortable and confused, but only her subconscious brain has figured out why. As she dives deeper into her mind, she finally reaches her subconscious which is extremely messy and cracked. Only then did she connect the dots, and realize she was being broken by toxic relationships. She compares everything with her current side piece. By that time it’s too late, and she’s caught by Henry, and executed. Her cracked necklace is all that remains of the broken queen.

It shows that Thomas was the LAST STRAW for her. The worst part is she was believed to only be 18 when she got married to Henry the VIII. She was only a child when she went through all of this I feel so bad for her.

Can we just talk about the animation and the style of this animatic- Her going up the tower, sort of looking at the end, each partner as a new hall. The older she got the more broken she was from all the guys using her from a young age, I mean, she was 19 when she was beheaded, she went through so much. Especially the ending showing how the statue of Henry broke, making her run to her end. That’s just my opinion. But like wo a h- this is amazing- ❤️❤️

I like how you show how young and naive her younger self and showing the cracks on her younger self identifying that this men affected her badly when they dropped her and left while also affecting her love life at the end of it and also shows why she was so desperately trying to find a mans love only to realize at the end of here death rail that was her down fall letting them do whatever they want to her and not understanding the consequences that well end up happening. And I also like how her older and ghost self looking back on this is disgusted and questioning why hasn’t she seen the red flags in the being but also understands at the time which makes her empathy for her self but also feeling a stupidity and regretfulness for not ubsussing over people who don’t care for her or what happens to her and that’s why I this so much and you did an amazing job.

The imagery of statues was such a cool way to present the story, like she was walking back on her memories and the statues of her of that time were expressing the emotions she once felt. It was wonderful! The story telling was chefs kiss!
