Excite Audio are back already with their newest installment in the Bloom series of instrument plugins called "Bloom Bass Impulse". As the name suggests, this is a bass instrument. You can a boat load of full length bass loops which you can combine key matched and beat synced to your project to make incredible basslines. To be fair, the 250 presets will be more than enough to get your inspiration jump started.
Just like the other Bloom instruments, Vocal Aether and Drum Breaks, Bass Impulse has a robust sample editor and the next level phrase player for making sequences!
Bass Impulse also has its own set of 4 macro effects catered to bass sounds; Sub EQ, Noise, Crush and Width. Along with having Saturation and Reverb fx avialble for modulation in the Phrase Player.

This also needs sample import option just like all these Excite Audio Bloom instruments! Really really nice concept and great sounds but.. Imagine if you can import your own samples in these, how dope that would be! And imagine when everyone use these same samples again and again, not so nice anymore. Of course you can tweak and process them but still.. Come on, give us sample import option in this Bloom series!!! Please

Plus the drums and now the bass instrument REALLY need midi drag and drop as sometimes the patterns are spot on but not the sound or key, even if it's the same key as your song it does not mean it will work. Getting this in perfect key with your already constructed chords could actually be very difficult. Without midi drag and drop I just don't see the use for it unless the entire song revolves around a bassline. Because, even if it's in the same key as the rest of your song, there can still be clash if the wrong note strikes at a time and you need a different pitch. If anyone wants proof of this, try some loop libraries and use say a bass loop, melody, chords from various libraries but all in the same key, and wait for the clash. Same key doesn't mean there won't be pitch clashing, it all depends on what is placed where. This is why I have always found bass and melody loops to be pointless unless someone is just a loop user who wants to construct an entire song from loop, erm, loop construction kits from the same sample library. Sure, I see the value in the breaks plugin and the vocal, as not all of us are singers for example. But it's always better to construct your own bassline using the correct note that matches your song for each bass melody part. And the drums plugin would be of much greater use with midi, as some of the patterns are great but the sounds just don't suit the sort of music I make - again I could use a drum kit of my choosing with a preset midi pattern from BLOOM if the plugin allowed this.

I can't help but see all of these Bloom 'instruments' as LoopMasters packs from 8 years ago disguised as a collection of VSTs that are rather plain samplers.

how do you turn off the scale lock? i can only get it to trigger on white keys, and nothing happens when I use sharps

These are loops in a sampler-style instrument. So, in general, that's the way it will always work. There are a few presets that have the same sample slide laid out over all the white keys. You can do that too, and just transpose to the correct semi-tones for the scale you want. - JC

How do I play bass in tune with the song? Like if I found a pattern that I like and the song is in C and goes C, G, E, A, how to make the pattern in C G E A? Four instances each set to different keys?!?

yeah i think you need separate instances sadly, unless it's a one chord kind of groove.. i tried to see if you can automate the key changes in ableton but it wont happen.. These would be perfect if you could do that but alas.. i guess the only other way to do it, is render to audio each bit Update- actually you can alter the pitch of each different key press in the edit window, so with a bit of work there i think you could do it! (and you can automate that)
