Passion fruit is extremely helpful for healing canker sores! My mom and I will eat them whenever we get canker sores and the sores heal a lot faster. Not long ago, I had a really big and painful one so I ate one passion fruit and the next day it stopped hurting and then healed within a few days.

I live in Britain, my dentist didn't etch my teeth before glueing those things on my teeth, from the limited time I've watched you since I just found you, I've learnt enough that my dentist was doing it wrong. Didn't even know etching was a thing.

Wym your dentist didn't etch your teeth? The bracket wouldnt hold onto your tooth, they etch for composite fillings too so the filling doesn't just fallout...

I had the old school big full metal bands around each tooth. When I got my retainer, the doctor would tighten it weekly, but one week I noticed bone on the roof of my mouth had become exposed and it hurt like !$@!#!. The doctor had to come in on the weekend to fix the retainer - such a fond memory !

I sometimes miss my braces, lol. I had an open bite that needed correction. I did the whole power chain with rubber bands for 1 1/2 months. I still use my Hawley retainer at night to keep my teeth straight. If you're thinking of getting braces, I recommend always having dental wax. It helps to prevent canker sores.

2:20… all I do is stuff my face into cushions. The pressure relieves it. So does swishing cold water, it’s kinda obvious ice cubes are bad.. Also, I got my braces off last month :D My retainers are A LOT better than my braces (thank the lord) 🎉🎉

Braces don't hurt... until you wake up.. edit: If you're getting braces soon, please realize this is only for the first few days and after you get them tightened!! Braces have helped me so much, especially with my confidence. They have allowed me to feel free to smile!! I wish you fellow braces people a great braces journey!! My braces journey update: I get my braces off in 2 weeks!! I am so excited my orthodontist has messed my teeth up 4 times now (one time they crossed my front teeth completely over one another and had to flip them back) and has finally fixed them to where I can get them off. Just get hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening strips, use toothpaste that includes hydrogen peroxide, and then use 3% hydrogen peroxide as mouth wash. You’ll brighten and even your teeth whiteness out in no time

fun story: a few months ago i had what I assumed was just a regular ulcer on my bottom lip.. it would get bigger, then smaller, and bigger again until it was literally the size of my pinky finger nail. so I went to the oral surgeon thingy (this was my first surgery actually). my mom said they’d freeze it and it would fall off, but he actually pulled it out and it looked like STRING LIGHTS, EEEWWW!!

My othordontist's assistant made me into some sort of masochist. She was late 20's with really nice, large, comfortable pillows that she would smother me with for about 30 minutes as she would tighten my braces. Every time my teeth felt sore afterwards, I would remember and it would provide positive memories. 🙂

Ohh, I had that headgear thingy. It was to expand my jaw a little. This was because my wisdom teeth were in a good angle, so they removed one premolar in each quadrant so my back teeth could come towards the front and my wisdom teeth could just be my new back teeth. Worked out perfectly!

I got them off today the glue part when getting them removed was uncomfortable the one where they use that plier type thing where it scrapes the glue off hurts but the air thing when it wasn’t coming off was weird thanks for keeping my smile nice and clean and you made be improve my brushing times

I was worried braces will kill me since my pain level tolerance was low. It was really annoying at times having it brushed against my cheeks or tongue but hydrogen peroxide mouthwash and dental wax helped a lot. Getting my braces tighten surprisingly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My teeth get sore but it's not painful like the root canal and infected wisdom tooth surgeries I had in the past. Menstrual cramps hurt more.

The worst part about braces in terms of pain for me, is either when they get tightened, oooorrrrrrr that little tool they use to remove the adhesive/cement off your teeth after you either a) break a bracket, or b) get your braces off.

I had braces a long time ago in the UK as a kid on my upper teeth but they were removable. I mean they were on a plastic palate that could be taken out to clean teeth etc. Cant imagine having to deal with these fixed braces.

fun fact: if you have a cankersore, you can use wax on the bracket(s) causing the pain and if you leave it on all night it should clear up in like 1-3 days or so.

I remember my one friend would be crying in agony after getting her braces tightened. My mom had braces too and within like 10-20 years her teeth went right back to messed up again like before braces so I chose to not get them. I only have like 4 teeth that are messed up and it just seemed like a huge waste of time and money to get braces especially if the teeth will eventually go back to how they are now anyway

For all the people worrying after seeing stuff like this.. it doesn't really hurt that much. It hurts for like 1-3 days after you get them put and when you get them tightened then it's completely fine. The pain isn't even that bad when it is painful it's not much more painful than a headache
