Hygienist here! Love that you’re spreading so much knowledge in such a fun way! I actually watched this entire video because you said “always looking for ways to innovate and improve dentistry” or something like that, and to let you know if we had any ideas. I’m not sure if you’ll run into parenting issues with this, but I would LOVE it if SOMEBODY other than RotaDent released a toothbrush with fully rotating heads. Not the different versions of oscillating heads. Also, the filament bristles instead of the regular bristles on everything else. I LOVE the way my teeth feel after brushing with my rotadent! But, they have monopolized this style of toothbrush somehow, and the replacement heads are too expensive to replace regularly as recommended. Plus, back in the day they had a lifetime warranty that made spending a ton of money upfront worth it, and now they only come with a one year warranty. My favorite features of the Rotadent are that the micro-filaments sweep out the sulcus far better than any other product, and foam when they hit plaque ensuring that if you pay attention you can get a thorough, truly clean, brushing session! If you want to take that a step further, design the brush heads to be either preventive/hygiene oriented like a brush is meant to be, AND an adjunct tool to help in the treatment of perio that isn’t super long central filaments that don’t seem to really step up the game that much. I have a real passion for this, so if you want some collaboration and/or advice, I’m happy to help! Just reply to this comment and tell me how to get in touch with you. I have no doubt your ingenuity can conquer this issue! P.S. I love that you take constructive criticism, and improve on it! Cornstarch would actually cause issues in the digestive system because when you mix cornstarch and water it makes a half liquid half soiled system that can’t make its way through the digestive system very well so I don’t recommend eating it plain

Cornstarch is fine to eat as long as you don’t eat like a pound of it. When you mix cornstarch with enough water, it losses its oobleck consistency, so even if you eat it by itself, it’s generally fine as long as it isn’t too much since there are enough liquids in the digestive system. And the acids in your digestive system should also break down cornstarch with no issue since it is a starch.

Man I used to have this really bad OCD behaviour where I would bite my teeth together at funny angles till it hurt. I outgrew it with help and stuff it turned out my OCD was triggered by trauma. It was such a scary thing to live with I cracked 3 teeth doing it and refused to see a dentist cos any time my teeth got moved or I lost a tooth of something the new bite would trigger off the need to clamp down. It was terrifying. I mean I ended up finding a fantastic dentist like this guy and it really helped they specialised in anxious patients and the fact I'm now here watching this video shocks me because I couldnt think or talk about teeth at one stage! It was insane!

I've had a tongue piercing since 2002. My advice, not that anyone asked, is swap to a plastic bar once you are cleared to swap jewelry. You WILL want to nibble and chew on that thing for a while. Once that is out of your system, get the shortest bar you are comfortable with and forgo the logo balls. No one will ever see it anyway. If you have a thick tongue, the following advice is not for you! Get nipple piercing bars for you thin tongue pplz. I have gone through all of the above, including the huge logo balls, and the nip bars are the most comfortable. The early plastic bars gave me a chewing outlet. I have not chipped a tooth on my jewelry. I have chipped one on a chicken tender with a bone hidden inside, but that's another issue.

I seen that ladies story on strange addictions. She ate plastic for many years. On the shows she actually seen a doctor and he told her stop now because you’re killing yourself. It’s was affecting all of her organ but the main one with the most damage was her liver. Her liver was so inflamed that he said if she continued she would need either a liver transplant or she would die soon. The minute she walked out of his office she stopped. Just very strange addiction.

I can attest to the charcoal tooth paste. I’ve been using it for about 2 years and it caused insane sensitivity on my canines. When i eat anything sweet, that pain is genuinely horrendous. After realizing that the toothpaste was labeled as fluoride free, i realized it was a gimmick and that was literally just scraping my tooth down. I switched to crest and its been feeling better since but i still deal with sensitivity at times.
