That throw to Pickens with the pocket closed and he’s basically on one foot sold it for me… beautiful throw. Something only Ben could do, I feel like I’m watching Ben.

Think if Mason had a Center that he didn't have to bail out every other snap I don't get the crazy high and crazy low snaps. There were multiple snaps that could have been disastrous had Rudoulph panicked or just couldn't gather it up. From what I have seen from kp8 and mitch in those situations is bad snap got to bail mason gathers the snap up and keeps his eyes down field while never missing a beat and that is refreshing AF to me.

What seems to be the hugest difference between Mason and Kenny is Mason going through his reads. It often feels like Kenny waits too long to decide and starts to panic if his first read isnt open

Here's some more stats that kind of back your observation up: Ben started 13 games as a rookie, averaged 187 YPG, 17 TD - 11 INT - 98 passer rating, won ROY. Not sure how to get to some of Mason's stats like YPG and passer rating in just his 12 games started, but he's above that YPG and passer rating pace in his last two starts, and has 18 TD's and 11 INT's.

Great breakdown as usual Daniel. Great performance from Mason, really rallying the team. One thing that I thought watching the broadcast was that SEA stayed in 2 high to prevent a repeat of what Mason and Pickens did to Cincy, which greatly helped the running game. Looking forward to your breakdown of the run game. Hope we can get a win and get the help we need to get in.

Steelers and their fans are picking short term feel good over what is best for the organization. Rudolph is like 90% to be gone after the season. I would be shocked if he re-signs here after the way he was treated. The fans were toxic and Tomlin benched him for years. Everyone acting like it is all good and he will now love it here is living in a fantasy. Pickett had his best game before being hurt with Canada fired and he is on a rookie deal. What is making the playoffs worth if you are just going to get blown out? A worse draft pick is about it. They have major holes and need a LT and center bad. Mason playing well has let them once again skate with the fans when they really needed a wake up call. Now they are not going to get one.

Commenting as I watch.... Im going to disagree with the first play. When you stop the film and circle the S and say that he's there if he throws it to Pickens, he's not. He's already committed to the covering the slot and has moved forward leaving Pickens one on one at this point. This was before Mason moved off of him as he's still looking in that direction. This was a big miss by Mason. That's a home run ball that he didn't see. It worked out as he progressed to Johnson and hit him with a nice pass. But that's absolutely a big miss by Rudolph.
@StateoftheSteelers
@StateoftheSteelers 5 ай бұрын
Right but when I paused it mason had looked off pickens. If we go back about 2 seconds when mason is reading the safety and looking at pickens, the safety is in position at that time to cover pickens. Rudolph could have looked back to pickens but his progressions wouldnt be to go back. But yes he did miss it. I give him more slack right now over pickett because rudolph hasn't played much in last couple years and the misses are far and few in between. With pickett it's the same mistakes over and over and over again going all the way back to college. The issues mason had early in his career (happy feet and too conservative) were not there in college and really only there in his first 7 starts as a pro so Def wasn't given the time to over come it. Kenny has had bad pocket presence and footwork since college. He held the ball too long and left clean pockets, got away with it because of the opposing talent. So with mason what was nerves, being a young qb, inexperience. With kenny I just think after 24 games double what mason has had, and while being older than rudolph by a bit when rudy had his 1st opportunity, I think that is who he is, coming out of college he was said to have a high floor low ceiling and so far that's exactly what I see except that high floor and ceiling were alot lower than we thought

You make me laugh. Thanks I needed that. Good thing you don’t work for the NFL because you’ve proven you don’t know much. No the team is not blocking better because of Mason. They’re blocking better because of some moves, a different scheme, and the running game is working. Let’s just ignore all the bad passes Mason has thrown. Sorry Kenny may not be a franchise Quarterback, too early to tell but Mason is nothing more than a backup.

@@Dee-nonamnamrson8718 have you seen his throws? I mean maybe you’re watching a different game. He’s hit or miss all the time. But then again I know everyone wants to go with the hot hand. The NFL has been full of back up QBs that have stepped in and just destroyed defenses and everyone goes crazy. Someone signs them to a huge contract and they just fall apart. And after several lousy games he comes in and does a decent job and now everyone has lost their minds thinking he’s the next superstar. I would laugh if it wasn’t so sad. It’s like the people who were calling for Tomlin to be fired because he had lost his touch. We need a new coach. Now he’s one a couple games and everyone thinks he’s great. If Mason goes out this weekend and throws a couple picks he will be considered a lousy QB. If he wins he’ll be the next Tom Brady. Use some common sense. He’s a decent backup. Probably should have had the number 2 spot. But he’s no superstar and he’s starter.

@@Dee-nonamnamrson8718 yes he does look a lot better. And there’s no denying he’s standing firm in the pocket. I’m not saying he doesn’t look good. I’m not saying even though there’s a lot of differences between when Kenny played and now. Between the OC, the line doing a much better job and there’s finally a running game. All you need to do is watch the only game without the old OC that Kenny played in and you seen a big improvement in his game as well. That was in the middle of the change. With all that said and seeing what Mason has done, I have no problem with the decision to start him. And by the way I’m not saying Kenny is a starting caliber QB. I do think he deserves a shot. But yes Mason played well the two games he started. So let him play. I am saying that he had missed some easy passes and I do not believe his play, as good as it was shows he’s a full time starter in this league. Hay maybe I’m wrong and Mason will lead us to the Super Bowl. I hope so but I just don’t see it with his last to performances.

@@StateoftheSteelers- You're welcome. Aside from today being my birthday, not much is up with me... "Thank you for subscribing back to my KZbin page, as well.", by the way. I greatly appreciate it. I saw last night's e-Mail from KZbin saying that you responded to my KZbin video comment & I just saw it, a little while ago, so, thank you for the make-shift early birthday gift of subscribing back to my KZbin channel. I can't wait to see what all else you have in store for us as it pertains to future content on your KZbin channel. I also can't wait to see what's on your KZbin channel after today's Baltimore Ravens/Pittsburgh Steelers game, as well--if anything, that is...
