You put it so perfectly. These talking heads have NO INTEGRITY . The real journalists are the KZbinrs who care about the sport and the big picture. Even without all of the exclusive access, you guys are resourceful and get the facts that reflect the real story. So clearly they could too with all their connections. They’d rather create drama, which is insulting to the intelligence of their fans. No wonder legacy media is dying out.. people are fed up with their BS

He's Asking The Questions. But in typical American fashion, avoiding the Real Answers. Remember when the Ravens justified keeping Greg Roman because "he's helping Lamar with some issues?" I mean you _heard officials on the Ravens publicly state that_ Lamar had issues, _right?_ No. No one on the team came out & told the rest of the NFL any of their players' weaknesses, ever, even if they had any. *Fans* made that up. So it has _nothing to do whatever with media._ Nothing. You're all missing something. Well, several things. & just like making up excuses to Blame Lamar, it's also nothing to do with media. You're all deflecting.

It is kind of funny how he is surprised at Ravens fans' reaction. I am a season ticket holder, and I was 18 when they moved here. I am 45 now, and many of my friends and family are Ravens fans, and I follow the Ravens guys and gals here on KZbin and on X. I'd say a good 95% back Lamar with 75% to 80% are completely in love with him. He's on the level of Cal Ripken, Johnny U, Eddie Muarry, Brooks to many of us. He's a superstar. We get that and want to keep it. Ravens fans are tough on QBs. Some always hated Flacco, and many were fine with dumping Dilfer after he won the Superbowl. Some can't stand Lamar too, but it's a big minority of the fans.

This is really it right here. It's frustrating as a fan with more than a surface level understanding of the sport but we also have to realize that providing in depth analysis isn't the goal of any of these television, online, or radio networks. They're businesses first and foremost so their number one priority is profits. What generates the most profit is engagement. What generates the most engagement is hyperbole and easy to understand hot takes for the masses.

Mark should be ashamed of his own hypocrisy. Literally Lamar had a great season in year 1 of a new offense. Dunno how he can brush past that. Also Bateman while supremely gifted has not had one injury free year in the NFL. Hollywood Brown had his best year with Lamar. I guess all them balls Mandrews catches mean nothing too?

It’s not surprising. People have been downplaying, and disrespecting Lamar’s abilities and potential since 2018. He didn’t win 2 unanimous MVPs for some bs. Does he have to play better, yes. Has he been playing outplaying his peers, also yes. They will continue to move the goalposts on him, same as they did with Flacco. “Flacco needs to win a superbowl to be considered elite.” He wins, and it’s “he’s not elite. They only won because of ray lewis.” It’s maddening that he’s consistently at the bottom of or excluded from top 5 QB rankings. How is a 6year, 2x MVP winner worse than a QB who never played in the NFL? Just doesn’t make sense. Appreciate u Coach, because ur opinions are stated to be so, and u take the time to back up ur views with FACTS

Also I believe Lamar will take a huge step this year. One thing Edgar said when Monken got the job is that Lamar will have to be good at pre snap reads. Also watching Warner’s videos on how the Ravens can get better he talks about pre snap reads and being on schedule. Lamar is use to going through a progression but the past elites look at leverage and press to know where to look first. I was listening to Brady also speak about how this was his most important task not throwing the ball To sum it up all Lamar needs to do is get better at having his eyes in the right direction, which I know he will from his growth year to year.

@@Mrfantastic-hp2en the o line was overrated IMO and the more film I watch I am baffled at how bad Justice Hill blocking was and him not being benched. But I think with Lamar it’s just a transition from Roman offense because I remember Kapernick telling a reporter they don’t know what his progression are. So to me once Lamar gets used to letting the defense tell him where his eyes should go and being on schedule the offense will get more efficient. Also Lamar and Monken learned from Andy and Pat because of their bball back ground they know how to attack mismatches. Think about that last play to seal the win. It was a simple as we gone get 1v1 with our fastest Wr vs your slowest DB and throw a lob. Simple.

I think this will be important because Stanley had no anchor last year and could only push people around the pocket and Lamar would have step up into a collapsing pocket but with those two being strong especially on double teams Tyler it will be hard to get to Lamar only bring 4. If Rose and Stanley can just lose slow it will be much improved from last year. And hopefully Hill has been working on his pass pro because it’s awful.

Can wait for Bateman and Lamar to really show them what's possible this year. Yes, Zay and Andrews will do their thing, and the rookie will flash here and there. The run game will also be the best in the league. But Bateman is the one. If healthy, he will begin to set a new standard for Lamar that won't be matched by any qb in the league. It will get him and this Ravens team over the playoff hump and it will propell them further into the future. Health this year will be key, but this could finally be the first year they leave no doubters in the end.

Seriously Coach I read a bit of that on Twitter (X) and was like okay I'm going to opt out of this BS and Sarah does always try to be balanced but she doesn't have to dime her love for our team to do so most of us women who have been watching football with our family since young can be just as balanced about a team we love as the men. I will acknowledge some of both genders can have slanted views when they don't have that balance but the amount of people including that guy making it clear that they think she can't balance her bias was annoying so I didn't keep reading the tweets. Now that you explain more of what he's said I'm happy I opted out and him bringing up Flacco as if they ever cared about our former QB is BS. I never heard this much confidence in his abilities even after his Superbowl win.

Do they know they're lying? The problem Lamar faces is we have an obsession with parity. If you're good at one thing, it means you must be bad at something else. For example, if someone is very smart, they must not be charismatic or physically strong. If someone is rich, they must not be generous. If someone is blind, their other senses must be better. In the case of Lamar, he's the best mobile quarter back ever, so that means he must not actually be good at throwing the ball. People aren't lying, they're just dispositioned to believe poor arguments and they're too lazy to do the work to support any of their beliefs. They want to be told what to think. Almost all of the hate for Lamar is just groupthink by unintelligent people with a handful of contrarians who would tell you even people like Tom Brady aren't good at football.

The Lamar narratives have always been toxic hypocritical. He isn't Patrick Mahomes. Ok, I got it. He will never beat him, then you've gone too far. Burrow has a better chance because he has a good record against him is another common one, and I don't believe that. Lamar has elevated his resume above the other qbs that don't have rings with his mvps. We shall see if the Ravens have elevated themselves to the Chiefs level. Imo from a roster construction perspective they're already slightly ahead. Now it's just about getting it done in the playoffs, but I am tired of the constant disrespect for the reigning mvp. Championships aren't cheap or easy to get.

I'm a huge ravens fan and a huge lamar jackson fan, but on the simple statement " The QB has a long way to go in developing Wrs" Schlereth is 100% right, andthere are some changes that lamar can make. We've seen it so many times, when a player that Lamar does not have a lot of confidence in makes a couple of bad plays, Lamar will freeze them out of the offense. It happened last year with Likely, He had a drop against the colts on 3rd or 4th down, and Lamar targeted him exactly 0 times in the next 4 games. You can't tell me that he wasn't getting open or that he was never the second or 3rd read. If Andrews hadn't gotten hurt, Likely would have ended up with just 150ish we would be talking about how Likely is just a preseason star. If target distribution were only based on the route concept, down and distance, and the WRs ability to get open, Bateman should have way more targets than he does, which probably would help his confidence and development. There are a lot of people that criticize Lamar and they don't care about Lamars success, or the Ravens success, I am not one of those.
