I close my eyes and I'm back at the April 4, 2006 show at Bimbo's 365 in San Francisco, as these tracks were in that show's setlist. Sia, if you're reading this, I'm the one you hugged shortly after the encore. Unforgettable. Well, for me at least... :-) ...

It's incredible how she can curate the songs for her own voice. I'm not sure if she composes some music on demand to other artists or if she just "selll" the recording rights to someone after the music is composed. Anyways, the hardests ones she keeps to herself, e.g. Lentil and Breath Me. No melody is predictable and her interpreting is unique. A real artist!

Sia's journey with her appearance was riddled with deep-seated insecurity and a struggle with self-worth. She believed herself to be ugly, leading her to hide behind a wig, desperate to shield herself from others' scrutiny and the harsh judgments she imposed upon herself. Yet, within the veil of anonymity, something remarkable unfolded. The wig, once a mere accessory, transformed into a symbol of her humility, resilience, and authenticity. It turned her into an enigma, a goddess shrouded in mystery, captivating us with her music and her indomitable spirit. When she finally shed the wig, it was as though she had bared her soul to the world, revealing the raw beauty and vulnerability that lay beneath, triumphing over her self-perception issues. Her hauntingly beautiful voice alone possessed the power to move mountains and touch the deepest recesses of our souls. And though time may have left its mark, our hearts will forever resonate with her voice. For Sia is more than just a singer; she is a beacon of hope, a testament to the power of music to heal and to move souls, and a reminder that true beauty lies not on the surface of our appearance but in the depths of our hearts.
@steveperkey98834 ай бұрын
That's not why she wore the wig man, she wore the way to hide her appearance so she could go out in public and people didn't know who she was I watched the interview with her and she explained why she wore the wig.. like she said if I want to go to Walmart and buy a garden hose I don't want to be swarmed by the public...
@humanrightsadvocate4 ай бұрын
@@steveperkey9883 Sia was joking about not being recognized in public. Obviously, anyone with basic internet access could easily find out what she looks like without the wig. The real reason she wasn't often recognized is that she wasn't famous enough for a large number of people to bother doing a Google Image search. Her face was as well-known as her birth date-technically available, but not common knowledge. To put it in perspective, think of Taylor Swift. What percentage of people who have heard of her actually know her birth date? Sia’s voice and wig were well-known, but her face, like her birth date, was only visible to those who took the time to search for it. And most people don't make that extra effort.

I love seeing these. Not only do I get to listen to my favorite vocalist singing live, but her personality is just a trip. It's easy to forget, with the emotional depth of her lyrics and understanding some of what she has been through, just how silly and almost childlike she is on the surface. I adore Sia and wish her happiness and love.

I'm very late to this party, I was slow to catch on to Sia - my apologies -- couldn't help but comment on Sia being dropped from a label - of course there's always circumstances, but the people that made that decision should probably be fired - all artists, like all people, go though various things - Sia's voice and brute singing skills speaks for themselves - anyone with half a brain (or isn't half deaf) that doesn't recognize that her talent alone is worthy of label support, whether whatever material she's singing is to their liking or not, shouldn't even be in the business - - her power and intonation are beyond the usual descriptions, to say she's in a class by herself would be a tremendous understatement - needless to say Sia is a monster singer who takes a second seat to no one. Obviously, with her killer intonation, no "auto-tune" needed, something rare these days - fantastic.
