I've never been one to take the advice of others when it comes to choosing a rifle. I look at cost, reliability, and accuracy I need to do the job for which I am buying the rifle. All these may be better than my two primary whitetail deer hunting rifles. But I am happy with both. One is the Winchester Model 70 Featherweight (30-06) which I ended up giving to my son. I bought it back in the early 80's and it's never failed to put meat on the table. The other I bought about 10 yrs. ago. It's the Ruger Gunsight Scout (.308) Both are still capable of 1-1/12 inch groups at 100 yds. and have ever experienced a malfunction. That's good enough for me.

Love all my Win model 70’s (4). All shot 1” groups, out of the box with factory ammo

I recently purchased a Bergara B-14 Stoke in 300 Blackout when I couldn’t find a Ruger American locally. With either factory ammo or my reloads, this rifle is amazingly accurate, easily shooting 1/2 MOA groups at 100 yards. I’m planning to put a better scope on it (only have 1-4x LVPO on it now) to see just what it will do. For an inexpensive, entry level rifle designed for “young” or female shooters, this Bergara is amazing. I see a custom Woox stock in its future.

Misses: Ruger Gen 2, Savage 110, Tikka, Sako, Weatherby Vanguard, Mauser 18. Sako being the one with the higher price tag.

Really? For one, as an 62 yr old veteran gunmaker, who also has been extensively involved in carbon-wrapped & carbon-sleeve tensioned brl production nearly 3 decades ago, I can honestly state that your IT-Bot claim is one big ‘BS’ statement on that subject of carbon-wrapped or brl’s dissipating heat quicker then conventional steel brl’s! Their rate of wear & tear is about double of that of conventional brl’s; especially for those range shooters amongst us, who either lack the discipline or the technical knowledge and usually ‘hotrod’ their carbon-wrapped brl’s without most of them even realizing it! I can’t even recount how many I’ve witnessed destroying their rifles during their first range sessions! Fact: for general hunting & the odd range use: a properly deep (preferably acme)-fluted # 4-5 brl will kick ass with most of these carbon-wrapped/tensioned brl’s as in both long-livety and accuracy! Unless I missed it: an even bigger joke is leaving out the best NR1 out of the box rifle deal, which has the lowest amount of problems: the mighty Tikka T3/T3X/T1 in this, what is obviously an mfg’ers sponsored ‘best 10 bolt-action rifles selection’ upload! As a final: you left out the bulk of superior quality West-EU bolt-actions, beside the Spanish Bergara, so your claims are baseless & useless; nough said!

I like most of your choices and have several of them. I would have pulled the Savage or Ruger and since you had some high end guns, would have chosen the Sako or maybe the Tikka.

Putting a muzzle break on a 22 defeats the purpose. A threaded barrel yes but not a muzzle break.

Sorry, but it seems like someone pulled rifle names out of a hat. Your list is all over the map. Rimfire (with the wrong picture by the way), precision rifles, regular bolt action rifles. What is the standard of your list? Best, based on what? Some really good rifles on the list but what are your picks based on?
@rogersiples3335Ай бұрын
You left out Tikka rifles.

I’ve got my heart set on a mossberg MVP scout. What do you guys think about that one?
@jcb86-aАй бұрын
I looked at it, but it was sloppy to me. I went Ruger Gunsite Scout.
@jcb86-aАй бұрын
The MVP certainly had value, though. It’s been a while since I did my comparisons, but I believe that one could use standard ar-10 mags which was nice for compatibility. All depends on your preference and how you intend to use it. Suppressed with subs, it’s quieter than my pellet rifle. 🥷
