I think it’s great that you’re taking the pressure off yourself! Reading can definitely ebb and flow, and will always be waiting for you when you’re ready! For me, I always turn to fast paced popcorn thrillers to get me out of a slump. (Like Freida McFadden)

Omgoodness, Alice is so sweet!! ❤ I completely agree with after having kids you go through that feeling of not feeling like there arent enough hours in a day to get everything you need and want to do.

Being the mom of an active toddler takes a lot of time!! I read on my kindle every night for 15-60 minutes, depending how tired I am. (And my toddler days are long gone!) It’s always an easy read, so it’s relaxing. The physical books that I tend to lean towards when I’m in a slump is a quick, easy thriller. Freida McFadden books fill this need! I’m getting ready to start some holiday reads- they are quick & fun! First up is The Wish by Nicholas Sparks. We’re going to the OBX for a few days (love the beach in the fall) and it was recommended as being perfect for this time of year- holiday-ish, but not too Christmas-y. I’ll let you know what I think! Alice has grown so much!! What a sweet girl!❤️ Can’t wait for Vlogmas!!

I definitely should try reading in my Kindle before bed at night. I'll have to try The Wish!

I’ve missed your bookish/Alice content! I like your taste in books and hope for more content from you!!!!! I recently read The Favorite Girl it’s on KU and I’ve been in a slump since it was REALLY good but thriller not cozy, but it may do the trick to put you back into reading!

Oh yeah.... sounds like a reading slump. I totally understand that feeling of feeling like it's too much brain power to read. Take a break with your game for a bit. I HIGHLY recommend Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It's got that emotional depth you were talking about. I remember crying as i was listening to the audio of it years ago when i read it. And Marrow by Tarryn Fisher i keep rec'ing you. Lol. Dark and mysterious weird. Try the first page or try a chapter of several and see if anything grabs you. She's so big now!! ❤❤❤

I will definitely try out Me Before you!

I totally can agree after I had my kids I didn't have time for myself, then between homeschooling and teaching everyone to read I really never had time, but probably three years ago I finally was in a place where I got back into reading and enjoyed it again. Don't beat yourself up we have all been there 😂..Alice is getting so big in your other videos and you look amazing..

I have 3 kids. Two teen girls and middle schooler son. Reading can be a struggle. My energy to sit down and read is low these days but I still try to do audiobooks when I feel like I can concentrate. But with little kids it’s so challenging. So I just say do what you can where it’s still enjoyable and if not .. books will always be there. ❤

Legends and Lattes is def cozy, even has a bit of romance. There's a plot, and there are stakes, but at its heart, it's a coffee shop story. My go-to comfort read is The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet. It's Sci Fi, but it's almost entirely character driven, following a starship crew on a long haul. Very blue collar, realistic world building, and lovely characters.

❤📚📚❤️ Alice is adorable! I remember baby/toddler days ( and I had twins). I could only read a few pages a night in bed, but it helped me relax, and when I finished the book, I felt so accomplished. 😂 Edit! The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley was light and quick to read.

Reading definitely comes in seasons. I don’t think you’ll lose it forever, but it seems to just kind of happen when kidlets are little. I have 5…and it can be hard despite them all being teenagers but for 1. I really dropped out of reading when I had my first 2, twins, and didn’t start again til my older 4 were 4+ as they were in school. Then I had a baby, and moved, and since then it’s been off and on…youngest is now 8. And despite them all being able to do for themselves, mostly, and quiet, I am more busy than I’ve ever been (teens, man!). I really just read in evenings, before bed mostly…so I don’t read many books but reading some is better than nothing, it keeps me happier and sane. Lol

Whenever I feel like that I always pick up graphic novels or listen to podcasts. Like right now I’m reading Sweet Valley high series that I used to read back in the day! 😂 they are corny books but no brain power needed lol

As someone who has never had the luxury of having a dish washer, the complaints about having to physically wash dishes are funny to me. This is no judgment towards you at all, it just makes me think about the privilege of having luxury items. I didn’t have a washer or dryer for a few months I didn’t realize how privileged I was for having one when I did before. I was hand washing my clothes and hanging them up. Before that I was tone-deaf and talking about how I could never live like my mom did. Love your channel.
@jacqiewheelerАй бұрын
I totally understand that because my entire life we never had a dishwasher... But there were 10 of us kids, so we all took turns washing dishes. 🤣
