Received my Gen 2 yesterday, here in Toronto, Canada. Delivery was exceptionally quick 😳. 2 days from initial order. Used the Gen 2 today with a temp set up in my vice - I’m speechless!!!! Over all, a little pricey with the delivery, duty and conversion to Canadian dollars, BUT..... sweet Moses, my Honda HRX blades are back at a precise 30° and SHARP! Nothing like this in Canada 🇨🇦 Thank God for the patriotic Americans 🇺🇸 and the Italian 🇮🇹 boy that took a chance on this product, while watching the All American Sharpener, online demos. Thanks Denny. VERY happy with my jig and so glad I some how stumbled upon your product and videos. 🙏

I know you have two configurations of Honda blades shown in this. Just wanting to confirm one of those is for the newer HRN line of mowers (e.g. blade model 08720-VR8-M00)
@AllAmericanSharpener2 жыл бұрын
Honda changes their blade configurations frequently enough that it has been challenging to keep up with. So far, the adapter has been needed for at least one of the two blades on all Honda blade sets. I'm fairly confident you'll need it for at least the bottom, wider blade. Sometimes the adapter is not needed for the top blade. If the top blade is held in the jig so the edges are straight with the movement of the guide arm, then you may not need the adapter plate for it. We've found that is has always been beneficial to use the adapter plate with the bottom blade, due to the odd shape of it. You'll just need to determine whether you need the adapter holes on the right for a straight edged bottom blade, or the adapter holes on the left for a bottom blade with edges that are not in line with the straight movement of the guide arm. I hope this is helpful. Thank you for checking in, and for your interest.

I did not need the adapter when I sharpened the blades on my newer HRN mower. I did however need it on my HRX. The HRN blade part numbers I have are Upper: 72531-VR8-M00 and Lower: 72511-VR8-M00

I just got my the 5005 model and this Honda plate kit. What angle is best for this two pair of Honda blades?
@AllAmericanSharpener5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your order! The Honda blades we have sharpened worked well with the 30 degree setting. But we hesitate to give specific angle recommendations because we learn of new blade angles and geometries all the time. We have had one customer with Honda blades who said they preferred the 35 or 40 degree setting for their grind. That's the nice thing about the 5005, it gives you the ability to adjust if you want.
@starzztop3 жыл бұрын
Can you set the angle between 35 and 40? It only goes in 5 degree increments. Thanks
@Jaytex953 жыл бұрын
Just a quick question, is 30* the suggested angle for all Honda twin blades? I've ordered the 5005 Gen 2 and Honda adapter from you guys and just want to make sure I sharpen them at the correct angle. Thanks again and I look forward to receiving this setup!
@AllAmericanSharpener3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason. We've received varying feedback, so we hesitate to say one angle is the best for all Honda blades. Some customers have said 35 degrees was a better match for the factory angle, and a few have even said 40 degrees. We suggest you experiment a little when starting out and see which angle setting best matches the bevel on your blades. But if you are still unsure, I think you are safe using the 35 degree setting. I will leave a link below to another video. It may be helpful if you haven't already seen it. The video demonstrates how we suggest to determine the angle setting needed when sharpening a blade for the first time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4LHaauYj8yep5I Thank you for your business! So just curious, I received my All American Sharpener and Honda adaptor and when I follow the instructions and place my wider blade on the jig it does not line up well with the grinder blade even after I adjust the slider bolt. I removed the honda adaptor and tried it without it and the bottom blade seems to line up much better now if I were to grind it. Now my question is, I have the new Honda HRN 216VKC mower that was redesigned and came out in 2020 - I know these blades are slightly different from the previous HRR mowers. Maybe the Honda adaptor isn't required with the newer Honda blades? Any thoughts, or could I be doing something wrong?
@AllAmericanSharpener3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason. You may be experiencing a new shape. Honda keeps switching things up on us. Although in our experience the wider blade, even in newer configurations, has still needed the adapter in every case. It is very possible, though, that you may need to use the other set of holes in the adapter plate. If you'd like to follow up with more detail, please email our support team at: support@allamericansharpener.com It will be easier to exchange information and maybe even look at some photos if needed. Thank you!
