Wet n Wild have contour sticks for under 5 dollars and so does Jordana! Also Kathleen has raved for years about the Essence Pure nude highlighter in the shade Be my highlight but more recently she discovered the Pure nude Sunlighter one which is the one you have. I’m pretty sure she uses it as a bronzer topper because it’s darker than the other one so there are two different ones, the Pure Nude Highlighter and the Pure Nude Sunlighter.

The essence mascara you might enjoy even better (like I do! ) is the volume stylist 18h the purple/lavender tube. The Essence Be my highlight highlighter is gorgeous too. Allana!!! I bought the Elf highlighter brush when i visited the states in 2012, and I STILL USE IT!!! washed countless times and it is still working amazing!! I use it for powder under the eyes and it works perfectly!

The highlight shade in the NYC duo is probably not supposed to be shimmery, just like a light matte powder to set :)

Yes, you're right. Both of those shades are matte products. The lighter powder it meant to highlight under the eyes and other places, that these days people typically highlight with a lighter concealer shade. It's NYC's version of a similar type product from Marc Jacobs. Wet n Wild have something similar as well. It's basically the type of lighter powder typically found in contouring palettes - like ABH and KVD

GIRL! There is only one Queen in the non-luxury makeup world, and that's Kiko! I doubt they have it in Canada since they only have a couple in all of the US, but it's all over Europe (It's an Italian brand). Best quality and amazing prices between $2 and $20. I often prefer their products over fancier ones. Try them whenever you're in NY or Europe!!

Thank you for showing more affordable makeup products. I know you prefer more high end makeup because, like you said at the beginning of the video, they're often better quality. But often isn't always!! There's some really incredible drugstore makeup out there that you haven't given a shot! Whether it be because you have your high end favorites and stick with them, or because Canada doesn't have as good of a selection as the US. The Essence highlighter is the one Kathleen was raving about, indeed. Ever since I first saw her using it I wanted to have it, too and that's the only highlighter I've been using ever since. I love subtle luminous highlight, never liked the "in your face" super shimmery ones. I'm so happy you did this video using affordable products cause I really needed your opinion on some of those. That NYC bronzer is my favorite holy grail bronzer even over all my high end. It does only come in one shade though so I'd say if you're darker than a light medium complexion it wouldn't show up. I did just place a small Essence order a few days ago and I'm excited to try the brand for the first time. I ordered their original highlighter which is the more champagne one but if I like the formula I'm definitely getting the one you got!

The L.A. girl concealer is great! A little less coverage than Mac pro longwear concealer but similar in consistency imo. Love their color correctors as well! Other drugstore faves under $5: Maybelline single eyeshadow in "the Glo down" ($3 US). It doesn't work too well on my actual eyelids but is a bomb highlighter! NYX lipliners and single eyeshadows are good for their price point!

Forever 21 in Cali is also carrying A LOT of makeup. Went 2 days ago and was surprised by how much Elf and Essence makeup they have. A few other brands as well but not just makeup. Brushes, setting sprays, masks, hair care even body scrub and a face cleansing machine.

I believe Catrice has a brow pencil that's under $5... it's not too shabby for the price; the only down side is that it's pretty soft so u csnt ever get a sharp tip when you sharpen it and you have to sharpen it a lot. I loved this video, and I cant wait for your next one!
