This actually wound up being a very tough contest, and OMG We should have lost this match if it weren't for amazing skills, in the obviously high heat conditions that we nearly succumbed to in the end. AND VERY ENTERTAINING and a great crowd ^^ We'll know that we nearly lost this though... It was actually closer than we think, given the heat. A strong first half was critical, and that we got.

This is good but (looking toward the future and the long-term), NZ Rugby and the other Southern Hemisphere unions really need to set up an under-16, under-18 and under-20 annual series. The three age-groups from two countries could even play *in synch* each weekend - for example, the U16, U18 and U20 teams from NZ could play the Australian age-group teams on the same day in Sydney or Brisbane, at maybe 3 different grounds. That might help to make things cheaper. The teams could share one flight "across the ditch" and share accommodation, maybe getting a special deal on the flights and accommodation. Anyway - that setup with age-group series is what France has done and it is making rugby in France *massively* dominant over other countries - they've now won the last three under-20 Rugby World Cups and they show every sign of getting a lot stronger from here. The Southern Hemisphere unions have been very slow to set up age-group series but they are ESSENTIAL if we want to have any sort of strength in the future.
