2019 RWC in Japan was the greatest experience of my life. The people of Japan were so welcoming and the atmosphere was electric. What a great result for this team, the forward pack looked 100 times better, set peices were good and they finally provided the backline with something to work from. They played for the jersey and their country today folks and they can be proud of that performance. 10:03 is one of the best scenes of the game, the Saffa's being disallowed a try because it was forward. The view of the crowd is momumental especially after they thought they had won. Our forwards were the heros. Rugby will never change in that games are won up front. I particularly thought the young front row did very well. De Groot and Newell being bought in is something that I've called for, for some time now. With Lomax coming in also and Joe Moody on the way back from injury, we'll finally have depth at prop again.

From a Bok fan...Firstly Well played NZ...Total domination in every facet(save scrums)...outplayed and out-thought the Boks. Poor Selection upfront...Duane, Ox,Dweba Cost the Boks this game in the first half. Pretty Avg NZ side...This game was thrown away by the Boks disrespecting the All Blacks with their selection. You can not have 3 passengers and expect to get away against top 3-5 opposition.(NZ are top 3 in my view despite the pre-game rankings) NZ started with great belief and tempo and this was amplified by 3 Boks forwards who were well off the pace. Speaking of off-the-pace..The confrontation-heavy physical gameplan of the Boks will not work week after week...Like England, they peaked a week early and it is now clear they can't play the same tempo on consecutive weekends. Had the Boks gone with Marx and Wiese from the get-go..perhaps the first half would have been 50/50, but as it was - NZ was up 15-10 at the break..and the Boks can thank the early forward substitutions for keeping them in the game at half time. That and the early injury to Kriel... made the 6-2 split a handicap. This was telling as it completely affected the Bok backline..Am is crucial in the Boks defence line as a centre and this affected them defensively for the rest of the game. @26min where Caleb Clark makes the line break..he is bursting through De Allende and Ox(inside shoulder).. De Allende probably messed up that tackle but Clark still ran a good powerful line. What would have happened had Lukanyo Am been there instead of Ox?? No prizes for guessing... That play led to the All Blacks first try. The penalty at 47min(13-15 score) from Wiese, just as the Boks were pulling their way back was stupid...but understandable as the Boks wer chasing the game now....as it was penalty reversal and a 5 point lead was gained by NZ @56min the Am break away...Also brain fade from Jaden...I reckon it was the 2nd block attempt that cost the Boks a certain try.(that should have been 18-18 but instead the NZ got an 8 point buffer then) Hmm....But The Boks always fade after +/- 65minutes... @66 min great play by the Boks winning a turnover and playing some slick rugby..NZ penalty and yellow...The Boks did really well to come back and lead 23-21.... Ok maybe the Boks won't fade... Turning Point of the game..How to Turn Victory into defeat Masterclass...71 min Boks with the advantage and a man up(Barret has 5min in the bin left)..Boks at NZ 40m..send a Bomb from the base of the ruck..Why just why??? Tired legs and brains plus the makeshift backline were always going to come into play at some point and this is why the Boks will always give opposition teams a chance.... All Blacks run from their 22 to the Bok 22.. Enforcing a penalty from a lazy Bok defender....leads up to the game-winning try in 74th Min... Classic All Blacks rugby..beautiful to watch the skills there. Game over despite there being 5-6min left. Conclusions: 1) Are the All Blacks back?..They were never gone...They put 40 points past Ireland and close to 40 past the Boks today... True it is not a vintage team...they lack big time in the forwards department but as Australia showed 20 plus years back..you dont need the best forwards to win games. Just Match the French/ Irish and Bok physicality and that will keep you in the game. 2) What is a true reflection of the IRB world rankings... 1) Ireland 2) France 3 ) New Zealand is probably correct at the moment. 3) Can NZ improve..damn straight...Today was a watershed moment where the All Blacks used their rugby intelligence..kicked well and handled the kicks very well...did just enough upfront(aided by tired Boks and poor selection by Bok management)... NZ still have the backline that is probably on Par with France and Ireland...their Lineout was outstanding today...they will have to improve at scrum time though..but the work at the breakdown and speed off the rucks was very impressive. 4) For the Boks..I think after 3 years I can finally say that the 2019 WC win was a fluke..had they played NZ or England in the Semis they would have lost. They are actually better than the 2019 vintage though as it was impressive to see them come back to lead 23-21 vs an amped-up All Blacks side The Boks shot themselves in the foot by not blooding URC game changers like Roos and Louw in the big games vs NZ(maybe they saving them for Argentina) and also the Am-Willemse-Le Roux combo was frightening to watch what they can do as an attacking threat. 5)Was this a blessing in disguise to SA and NZ... For SA it should be a wake-up call..World Champs..who are probably 4th best now..that's laughable... and I dont see them beating Australia away easily(possible 1-1 or a 2 nil series loss)..so are they in fact the 5th best team? Their management is stubborn as hell so dont expect any flashy expansive gameplay or trying out some more dynamic loosies(Roos and Louw).. For NZ...it seems NZ will stick with Foster now for the World Cup...What benefit would getting Razor Robertson have given had they lost today..guess only time will tell now...NZ have the brains to adapt...and yes they can improve a bit in the forward's department but I dont think they can dominate France and Ireland like they did the Boks..but they showed they are adaptable. with the kicking game..so at least that's a new weapon they can tweak in the coming months.

Where's everyone that said Richie Mo'unga isn't a test level 10? 😂 😂That was a terrific game. Havili's best game in black, haven't seen him carry the ball that well, combined with his usual skillset. Ardie was a beast as always and Sam Cane seems to be getting back to his best. Was really happy that he scored a try, would be great for his confidence and good to shut up the naysayers. Most importantly, very calm under pressure. If BB was on, he puts everyone under pressure including himself. He’s very predictable. Doesn’t pass as much as Richie. Reiko looked good because of Richie’s passing game.
