This currently sits as my favorite album this year so far. I didn't expect them to top Apoptosis, but they left it in the dust in my opinion.

Necrotic Nick- There's already a few that I think are contenders for album of the year but there's so much coming this year so it's hard to make a call just yet. I think this might be better than Apoptosis though and I love that album.

This might be my album of the year so far. I just love every single thing about it. The diversity, the emotion, the lyrics and the songwriting are absolutely phenomenal. Sounds like they took lots of influence from Opeth, Scar Symmetry and Obscura at times. Incredible album and I truly loved the experimentation with more clean vocals. Riley is an incredible vocalist.
@thrallsofmetal2 жыл бұрын
Necrotic Nick- It's definitely in consideration for my year end list already. I was pretty damn blow away by this and it sounded like the next logical move for them musically. I think they flat out mastered their sound on Apoptosis so it was time to add some new elements and broaden their sound even more. Letting Riley go off more vocally was a giant difference maker here on this one. His vocal change ups give this album a ton more emotion.

My favorite band since formshifter. Every song is great, every style peppered across every song is mastered. Their videoclips are funny which is refreshing in the genre compared to all the other bands trying to act out or something. Just a great great great band.

I'm pretty picky with Tech Death, I usually gravitate to the more Old School /Caveman form of DM, but From the few tracks I've heard from this, I'm digging it pretty hard.. Agree with Shred, I can definitely hear Ghost Reveries era Opeth, which can never be a bad thing lol.. Keep up the good work guys, these reviews are coming thick and fast!
@thrallsofmetal2 жыл бұрын
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! I'm pretty much the same way when it comes down to tech death. A lot of it gets lost in trying to noodle and blast you to death but these guys know how to flat out write killer songs. I think becoming a more progressive band was the right move because they have so much in their wheelhouse musically.

Only loss is a fantastic final track. The thing that’s awesome about this album is it’s a hour long but it feels more like 40 minutes because of how buttery smooth the pacing is.

I love Allegaeon's old stuff. They would get deep in the pocket of killer riffs. I was SUPER skeptical of this one after hearing the singles and the new clean vocals. But wow, so music music to absorb. Will take many listens to get through the depth of this release and I think I will really like this in the end. Still prefer the older sharper higher growls of old than the guttural mutters that we hear now. They do show up at times here but not enough for me. Good stuff for certain. You guys planning to review the new Vio-lence EP?

Man I had never heard of these guys before, I listened to this completely cold, and my god what a fucking ride! This album was fucking awesome, I'm gonna have to check out the rest of their catalogue. Those leads were some of the best I've heard for a long time. For me this could be a top 10 album for the end of year list, and it'll be one that I am going to be playing to death for the foreseeable future 🤘🤘
@thrallsofmetal2 жыл бұрын
Necrotic Nick- Man, you jumped on at what I would call a watershed moment here because this might be their best album yet. The rest of their stuff is killer to but more straight forward when compared to this monster. Burgess is such a killer guitarist an honestly you'll hear that on every Allegaeon album. The dude never skimps on giant hooks and killer leads. Yeah, I have a feeling this might be a year ender as well.
@liametheridge91482 жыл бұрын

Discovered these guys with Elements of the Infinite. Still fucking love that album. Proponent for Sentience was also a blast. For some reason I never fell in love with Apoptosis but this new one seems like a return to form just in terms of enjoyability. But you’re right these guys are super consistent and their leads are some of my favorite from any modern band

Necrotic Nick- I've been following them since the debut and I've became immediately. I think this is a really cool shift in their sound and kinda one I think they needed to make. Necrotic Nick- Copyright, bro. I'd rather not chance it and that allotted 7 to 10 seconds wouldn't do any band any justice. I'm pretty sure we've had this conversation multiple times. There's almost always singles out before we even review these albums and occasionally full album streams. I strongly encourage you to give the bands themselves streams/ views on their label's channels or their own. It helps them as well.
@carlosmenendez87202 жыл бұрын
To me the music in this album is very, very good extreme music; I was very happy that there are 50+ minutes of it, so you definitely get you're money's worth and more. Unfortunately FOR ME the clean vocals just don't fit here other than the ones that sound like Opeth in "Called Home" . Leave that for the bands that have less than this awesome musical talent
@thrallsofmetal2 жыл бұрын
Necrotic Nick- Honestly, I think the clean vocals really added a lot more emotional depth to the album for me. I love their usual blitz of insane riffs and solos but I always thought Riley was holding back a bit vocally when the band demonstrated they had the giant melodic hooks that clean vocals would have worked over. I like that they expanded their sound more and the fact this has a lot of prog metal on it really made the clean vocals work for me.
