Deepak Parwani no doubt is a very talented, prestigious designer but passing personal comments, body shaming and accusing others without providing any proof only lowered his stature. Arrogance and rudeness only belittles a man. There may be paid journalists, but he should have shown the guts to name them instead of generalising 80% of the community as corrupt. He should have named the journalist who favours the last name and not the talent. That particular journalist should be shamed and not the entire community. Were award nominations the reason of his bitterness or he thinks of himself as beyond criticism and anyone who dares, has to be paid. Amna does not need to dress up like model to prove her knowledge about fashion. She is a professional journalist and dresses up like one. She has always conducted herself very gracefully on SH. The entire conversation between HSY and Deepak was in bad taste and condemnable.

Amna, before watching you I used to consider fashion as something frivolous and superficial, and being given way too much importance than necessary. Respectfully, I still do think the industry and designers are given a little too much importance than they deserve, but watching you speak about fashion and your passion towards it really helped me understand how people genuinely identify with it and how it helps in expressing oneself. I should say that you have introduced non-elite people like us to the world of our fashion industry, and your passion and work speaks for itself. For any designer to say something so offensive about you, when you are genuinely doing good work to teach people about fashion (even if it's simply giving tidbits during your drama reviews), is in bad faith and lowers their credibility not yours. I wish I could say something about how great you are, that people haven't already said on social media, but just wanted to let you know you are v imp to us!!! We love you ❤️

Firstly I've made fun of every overweight person all my school days because it's very rare in my place and community so akal aane mein bahut der laga and now every single day whenever I hear of fat shaming I feel slight embarrassment over myself about the weirdest jokes all medical college days comes back thank god I've evolved . I am regular watcher of Something Haute from Australia only because of Hassan and Amna. They are the intellectuals due to whom I select Pakistani dramas to watch and not on one occasion it has been a wrong decision. I mean I just started but I your abrupt announcement to end your review has yet again... put me off. I literally subscribed and stayed because your reviews were so good. They were the content I wanted to watch and was so entertained to watch. It was such a good space to see two highly intelligent and coherent people with such good working chemistry explain characters, critique work, story tellin and direction on Pakistani dramas. Just taking those dramas and adding so much more to it with reviews, so many things would always be highlighted and so many things I'd resonate with like I had said them myself. Hi Amina, this comment is directed towards you and i hope this will not be trashed. It took me a year to write this, but after watching this episode I just could not resist. I run a fashion brand which is still in its infancy stage. Last October i showcased at the bridal week. It was a horrible collection and yet i showcased, because i was assured that this will get me to places. I was sure that I will be ripped , specially by you. I only read your review, because I have been following your work and knew that it would be an honest one. You were kind to give a very neutral review; light heartedly criticised the opening of the show which was by my daughters who you called 'tots', which was really cute. Also, i got the appreciation for the finale dress. Having said that my time to shine was ruined. Instep did not even review my collection stating it was not fit for the ramp. I invested all I had into the collection and the show to create an income stream. I stand nowhere despite all the investment, monetary and otherwise. Because I had a concept that could put me under the limelight; and was dictated into changing the entire collection from couture to 'what will sell'... killed my creativity. I was new, so choreography was ignored...because i was new there was no time for styling... because i was new the whole show was a havoc for me. Do i need to be at the after parties and be friends with everyone to be on the map? who is there from the fraternity to help people like me. I stand powerless in front of the 'powerhouses' . if i disclose the latent side to the selection process, the few people from the industry who like me will also abandon me. i am talented, i have a vision, but within the set boundaries of my tiny brain. its high time someone as influential as you must also focus on the institutions which are responsible for creating platforms for the promotion of new designers. Flaunting about disciplines and principles to sustain their positions will only make the big names even bigger and that is it. yes its true, we have to bribe everyone with goodies to be seen. I need help, which is to be heard. As a fashion journalist you have the power to stir up things to actually develop the infrastructure that our industry requires.....please see below the surface... there is a lot that you are missing out on ...and there is a lot that you can bring a change to. Oh my God I didn't know about this Deepak thing. I had to watch that HSY interview. Amna dear I have got to know you recently through your channel as i not live in Pakistan and unfortunately I'm not not insta. You are one of the most professional lady I have seen and heard.
