Allen was on the ground ready to accept defeat and Curtis let him up.... All he had to do was lay on him for the 5th round...... He wins why let him up.....Allen was straight up kissing the mat 2xs Curtis barely threw any gp .... Very low IQ for Allen and Curtis late.... Lay on him and punch wtf.

At that point he was already injured and likely feeling it (said ham was strained in rd2 and blew at the end of the fight, obviously) and when you drill something for months (don't let him get me down and don't fuck around with his guard) it's difficult to assess in the moment if that strategy is actually the most tactically sound approach as the fight evolves. I agree he should/could have secured the round with ground control and a little GnP, but I get why it may not have occurred to him in the moment. That's what makes guys like Jon Jones, Mighty Mouse, and GSP so extraordinary; no matter the fight they are able to assess and adapt. Their game plan evolves naturally along with the engagement.

I actually thought Curtis won every round, except for the last few seconds of the 5th, though they were tight and it was not a robbery. Also, corners should NEVER tell their fighters they “won that round” NOR that they “lost that round”; it should be “more of that” or “you need this next round”.

I like both fighters & was super close but Allen won 1,4 & 5 . And Because they are called dominant positions, Johns talked about it on here before, if someone has your back you are defending something that they initiated, its like if your in the stand up position and someone’s throwing punches at you for 2 minutes and you defend them all, you may have defended the shots but you’ve been in a defensive position for that time and your opponent has put you there. if it was only for 20 seconds they wouldn’t mean much but Allen had decent control time to steal round 4 especially. i just commented on paddy baddy video about how prime tony ferguson before his losing streak was potentially the best most dangerous 155 fighter of all time. go look at all of his opponents faces after the fights they were obliterated a bloody gory disgusting mess. conor and khabib ran from him. khabib pulled out so many times and conor just avoided him. Im not saying tony could have beat them but their faces would have been destroyed by him and probably beat too. I think tony was the real champ mcgregor holding the division up all those years took that away from tony which wasnt fair he deserved titled shot more then anyone. prime ferguson would have destroyed all his last opponents he lost to including olivera and chandler. the only one i would think could possibly beat him is gathje prime ferguson was a bad man people forget this.
