CQ is built on a 96kHz platform capable of smart processing and rich in connectivity,
network, Bluetooth, wireless options, SD and USB.
The CQ range consists of three form factors - two desktop models with hands-on control
and a rackmount/stage box model. All use the same apps and same firmware but have a
slightly different feature set and price point. With the CQ range, we have created a super
portable and easy to use, but still fully featured digital mixer, suitable for technical and nontechnical
users.
CQ-18T -16 mic+stereo line, responsive and intuitive touchscreen control
CQ-12T -10 mic+stereo line, reopens and intuitive touchscreen control

I am unable to connect with USB to my Laptop to playback to mixer, It shows in my laptop sound and I select and speaker out but when I play any music from Laptop it didn't show any sound in mixer. Plz can you help?

Go to Processing, on the third page labeled ST IN/FX you will see the USB receive channel. Here you can ge the audio from your laptop.

Can anyone recommend a physical control surface for controlling the CQ MixPad app, which would be controlling the CQ-20B? Touch screens are great and all, but tactile controls are preferred in a live performance environment by many people. The remote control capability of the CQ-20B is impressive but it would still be nice to have a familiar look & feel for the operators. I see that the MixPad app is only available for iOS & Android, with the AH site saying "coming soon" for Mac & Windows. I suspect there will be more control surface options available as those applications get built/released into the wild.

The CQ series doesn’t have a way to be controlled outside of the apps. Currently, they can’t be controlled by midi either. I’d recommend getting a Qupac if physical/external control is important to you.

Keith! Is there a quick way to copy/paste all the parameters on a channel? I seem to be able to copy EQ, Compressor, or Gates and then paste, but I can only seem to do one parameter at a time.

Currently you can only copy and paste parts of the channels strip. The workaround for this currently is to use the folder icon in the top right and save channel presets.

Has anyone tried this in an outdoor setting... is the screen bright enough if you are playing an outdoor did in the sun?

Personally we have not tried it at an outdoor gig, but it’s not as bright as an iPad as a point of reference.

The CQ mixers are not expandable and can not talk to other mixers. You have the XLR jacks, usb, SD, or bluetooth as options for a channel source.

The CQ series is nonexpandable. If you need 32 channels, you would need to step up to the Qu or SQ series. The Qusb and Qupac are smaller formats, like CQ, that can expand to 32 channels.

hi, is the demo version of mixpad showing up the ct18? i ask because on mixpad it shows only 1 stereo line in and not 2 like the cq20

Yes, the demo version of the Mixpad shows/functions as a CQ18T.

I would like to know if this machine could work as a real multitrack recorder, I mean could I do overdubs with this?, does it have a metronome , record precount....etc?

To properly record overdubs while using a click, you’ll need to use this with a DAW. The usb connection will allow you to multi track into a computer, while using a free daw like Garage Band or Reaper to add a click and overdub. The CQs can be a centerpiece to a studio setup, but you’ll have to add a computer or laptop.

I've watched several videos for the CQ-12t and I'm wondering why no one ever does a playback of a recording. Am I wrong in thinking this can be a standalone multitrack recorder? Do you need to have it interfaced for playback? I have a Zoom R20 and I'm looking for something exactly like it, but with more processing power because it is slow at times.

The CQ series can multitrack record to SD or over usb-b. When connected via usb to a computer, it can function like a multitrack interface. You can record every channel and still have enough outputs to also record you main mix, some auxes, or effects. There’s no internal storage, so I’d recommend using an SD card to record standalone. In this instance you do not need a computer.

There is no digital I/O but you can multi-track out via USB to a computer. The USB B connection will connect to a computer for streaming or recording. This can be multi channel or stereo.

@@janiskalnins7313 The preamps are unique to CQ and based on the SQ preamps, think full and clear sounding. Bluetooth 4 was used with the mixers. The boards are all running internally at 96K.

The CQ series is not expandable. If you need remote IO, i’d check out the CQ20. if a stage box is a must, look at the Qu-SB, Qu-Pac or Qu16.

No, these mixers do not have any card slots. For digital connections, you have usb and an sd card slot.
