Is there a way to copy a mix such that the new mix follows the faders of the original mix? Can I duplicate the main LR mix into the other mix that will follow changes made in the LR mix? I just need to change the final volume out in the different mixes.

Hello, I want to ask what is the use of aux in on me 1? And can I record a live band through the me 1 mixer?
@Johnbanthony3 күн бұрын
The Aux in is for an additional local input, rather than from the mixer. The MEs are personal monitors so you’ll need to record from your board or connect it to a computer.

Can I ask - what is the benefit of the tweeter extending above 20KHz. Most adults struggle to hear above 13 - 14KHz.
@Johnbanthony14 күн бұрын
The point behind a sub that will go lower than your content, or tweeters that go higher, is that they prevent distortion from frequency rolloff or phase distortion in the range that you can hear.

For those who are wondering how are those devices are named? In south Cambridge UK, Newton is a small village 5 minutes away from Little Shelford, where Neve had a small factory some decades ago, before moving to Melbourn. Other surrounding villages are: Foxton, Sawston, Harston, Hauxton... So I won't be surprised if upcoming products are named after those villages.

I have a problem with my app. So I can’t control the FXs from the app. If I click mute on the app, I will not have control over the FX from the board itself. If I unmute from the app, I gain control at the board itself. But whatever I do on the board, does not mirror on the app. And if I mute or unmute it from the app, it doesn’t reflect on the stage.

Does it sound better than the preamps on an audio interface?
@JohnbanthonyАй бұрын
Any answer to this would be subjective but we can discuss the facts. Audio interface manufacturers work to hit a price point for each of their products. Sometimes certain components are favored over others based on marketing and what customers find important. Generally speaking, a standalone, hardware microphone preamp or channel strip, especially at this price with such engineering legacy behind it, will contain higher quality components and result in a better sound (again subjective). There is a reason why top engineers own several different hardware preamps. They are purpose-built with love and lend their own character to the recording.

@Johnbanthony I watched another video of this preamp and vocals sounded too harsh dry to me for a preamp that costs over 2k.

@@AnwaarAliOfficial that's interesting. Remember that everything from the actual microphone to the cables to the converters in the audio interface can also affect tone and clarity.
@niozikpro5812Ай бұрын
It is better yes. Mainly because of the transformer. The transformers make it easy for the recorded material to sit nicely along with other material. Make it easy to eq. And ultimately, you can mix through this preamp and get a glued sound like no compression can. And remember, everytime you run things through this it is important to drive them into red. That is how you get that round sound without digital harshness. I woul buy these things any time of the day. Just makes recording, mixing and mastering way easier. Also, cannot stress enough how I stopped buying plugind when I started using class A stuff with transformers ie analog.

Can you use the Me1 simultaneously with the ME500
@Johnbanthony2 ай бұрын
Yes, you can daisy chain (pretty much) as many ME1 and ME500 units as you like if they all have their own power. If you’re using the MEU, then units connected directly will be powered via PoE. Each unit is a like a miniature mixer that receives and passes on any channels it’s sent. The main thing to be aware of is that the ME500 will automatically assign the first 16 mono or stereo channels you have patched to keys (stereo channels must be odd/even pairs and from stereo sources or tagged as stereo in the MEU). The ME1 can also work like this, but you also have the freedom to patch any channel to any key, use groups to send multiple channels to a single key (e.g. Drums) as well as there being a local mic for ambient sound.

Serban is getting arguably the finest engineered/tracks in the world to mix. Often songs are mostly finished before it even reaches him. Not to say he’s not amazingly talented, but he doesn’t need to reach for tools like this because they are inappropriate and unnecessary for the level of “rough mixes” that he’s bringing given to finish. This is a unit that exists solely to enhance and add analog coloration to productions and mixes that were clearly not tracked on analog gear every step of the way.

Is the quality of the preamps and audio quality the same as the SQ7?
@Johnbanthony2 ай бұрын
All A&H preamps are voiced similarly, clean and full, and the topology is very much the same across all XCVI ranges. There are technical differences with regards to components, transient response and conversion though, where the preamps built into the Avantis are closer to the dLive than those built into SQ. With both featuring SLink, it is possible to use dLive preamps with them by using DX series expanders, or you can even go all the way up to the PRIME preamps for the ultimate linearity and transparency.

Is there any way i can run the audio from SQ and then pro tools mix to my VMiX video live stream feed?
@Johnbanthony3 ай бұрын
You’ll need to setup an aggregate device with the SQ usb and another software such as Rogue Amoeba Loopback. The problem you may run into to in that Protools Studio only allows 32 outputs and the SQ usb driver is fixed at 32 channels. Adding Loopback would create a 34x34 aggregate driver. Dante maybe better here since you can drop the channel count on DVS. The other option would be to loop your protools mix back into protools and out again over usb into Vmix. Then you would only be able to send 30 channels into Protools. If you have Protools ultimate, this is all moot though. You can go past 32 channels with PT Ultimate.

Would a Neve orbit 5057 be needed if I had this?
@Johnbanthony3 ай бұрын
They do different things, and the 5057 summing allows you to get a Large Format Console (LFC) sound and integrate outboard gear into the mix process, with the enhanced width and depth and “mix glue” that only analog summing provides. The MBT adds very different saturation, variable width, parallel compression and a xener limiter, and both flavours of silk, as well as mastering EQ. So they are in fact quite complimentary IMO. The 5057 brings LFC sound in a very repeatable/recallable, and very controllable manner, while the MBT allows you to master your tracks/mixes/instruments and finalize your tone with a very different set of parameters than summing.
