I did not find any compressor sidechain functionality in the app in offline mode. Is sidechain compression possible?

Great Demonstration... What's the SD card and USB capacity limits? Online mentions for the SD card, ONLY 32 Gigs??? Which I find hard to believe?!?! Can or anyone confirm these available capacities??? Thanks!

This is so cool. This will definitely help me out when I go DJ and the band needs help to EQ their equipment.

For the CQ18T (& the CQ20B, for that matter), it was mentioned by the A&H person in this video,, in multi track recording mode, it will record 16 track. Does that means that i can only multi track record only the 16 channels input but not the Stereo Input jacks (or the 2 stereo jacks input for the CQ20B). Does it means (ie, for the CQ20B with all the 16 XLR input connected & both the stereo jack inputs connected, totalling 20 channels) that i can only select 16 inputs only for multi track recording (out of the the total 20 inputs connected in the CQ20B)? My 2nd question is, is it possible to cascade two CQ unit to become as a one system, (ie, the CQ18T cascade with CQ20B, giving 38 channels & 12 Aux Outs)? My apologies, if i am asking a stupid question...

afaik, cq20b can record 22 channels, as for inputs and outputs. and no, cascade as well as all other expansion options aren't available for this products

I would like to resolve a doubt, when I assign the input signal to the channel, such as USB, will the recordings I can insert only be those recorded by the console or can I use other external media?

I've watched several videos for the CQ-12t and I'm wondering why no one ever does a playback of a recording. Am I wrong in thinking this can be a standalone multitrack recorder? Do you need to have it interfaced for playback? I have a Zoom R20 and I'm looking for something exactly like it, but with more processing power because it is slow at times.
@danieldion88258 ай бұрын
Is it a standalone mixer form multitrack recording or it needs a computer ? If standalone, can it do playback and record at the same time like the Zoom L20?

If the CQ series mixers have the same preamps as SQ-5 and scaled down Deep plugin processing for reverb EQ and compression emulating La2A and 1176 , Dbx 160, pultec eq SQ5-Tube stage pro tube pre modeling This mixer will crush the market. Would be great if the SQ mixer had secondary Ethernet /Ultranet port for in ear personal mixers digital mic splitters. Very good would also be Hdmi output for touch screen. All Wi-Fi mixers are great until you get Wi-fi connection issues then Ethernet cable and control from your laptop is a lifesaver. The other option is 30M snake and setup in the mixing FOH position with external hdmi touch screen. On the CQ-18 and CQ-12 you have the internal touch screen as backup setting up in FOH position if WiFI doesn’t work. Whit some hotspots having 30-different WiFi networks setting up your WiFi on your mixer connections sometimes can be a extended process to make it work reliably enough even with strong external router.

Hi, if i have a DJ controller left/right out. Where should i plug my left/right out to this mixer? Is it gonna ba stereo l/r or 2 of the channel like 15 and 16? Thank u in advance.
@brandonlee86288 ай бұрын
You can actually stereo connect channels from odd to even channels. So you’re combining your controller LR to stereo channels combine your EQ and processing to the stereo channels and then out to your master out L&R

My Takeway: CQ-20B - Late in the game, more expensive alternative to Behringer Xair18, Midas MR18, and Mackie DL16S, Soundcraft Ui16. CQ-18T - Late in the game copy of QSC TouchMix. A little cheaper than the TM16, but I'm not sure this provides enough to make people switch. Most consumers at this level of gear, value money and functionality over brand loyalty. The screen is nice but I need more than 16 channels. Would have been nice to see these expandable to 32-40 channels without having to spend Qu-pac / SQ5 money.

There’s no screen with XR/MR18…
@bowlingactually Жыл бұрын
I view this as a long awaited improvement and update to the XR18/MR18. Similar size with a screen, assistant features, direct recording, higher sampling rates, better sounding, and more flexible. To me it just killed the XR/MR as the "go to" device for club bands and DJs. Excellent work A&H!

In my opinion i think the price increase over an MR 18 (which i have) is totally justified. It is a better mixer albeit a bit late & pricier!

I have seen several videos on KZbin about the new CQ series. It seems that the four FX engines have fixed types of effects. Which I guess means, that I can't choose a presets from a library for the respective FX slot like with the SQ or QU series. Is this the case, or did I miss something? Thanks!

They are selectable and not fixed. checked out a demo at GC.

cq-18t really doesn't have Hi-z inputs?
@chrisbalding3128 Жыл бұрын
I’ve used a TouchMix 16 since 2017. For me, the dealbreaker for the CQ-18T was the para EQ on the inputs. On a digital mixer in 2023, you should NOT have to choose between a variable low cut, shelving or bell (peak-dip) for your lows. In that respect, I actually have more control of my lows with my old Allen & Heath MixWizard WZ3. Granted, my low cut on the WZ3 is at a fixed frequency, but at least I have the option of engaging it and still having a shelving at 80Hz and still have my two sweepable mids. Vey disappointed with that aspect of the CQ-18T. Had my credit card out, ready to order, but no thank you.

I think they’re getting close. I was really hoping this was going to be the TM-16 killer, but it’s not. Why did they go with 1/4” over XLR for all the outputs (excluding the mains)…? Naturally I thought the CQ-20B would be the solution, but with no built in screen it leaves your whole show pending on possible iPad issue. The last thing anyone wants is to be at the mercy of their iPad or network connection. For all the thought put into the CQ line I feel there were some huge oversights. I truly enjoy the SQ Series, but the lack more reliable output connections as well as lack of redundancy with the CQ line is a “swing & a miss” in my opinion. They truly came so close to what I think a lot of people either would like to see or need to see before making the purchase. Keep up the great work with the SQ Series. With a few minor changes I’d be all in to replace the remaining 4 TM-16’s we still have in use. The TM-16 is by no means perfect as the console touch screen is garbage, but at least it’s a backup to the iPad and they got it right with the input/output configuration. One last MAJOR NOTE on the SQ line… Just make the out for the headphone monitoring a 1/4”. The 3.5mm TRS wears easy and most who’d be using the console have either professional cans or an adapter for them. All in all in really like A&H. Their DX168 has been a game changer. Looking forward to upgrading into the era of Dante. Hopefully this is read as intended. That intention being a few minors updates to their hardware. I’d never tell anyone not to buy A&H. Personally I just need to have confidence in all my connections and an easy contingency plan for areas I see being a possible problem. I hope A&H continues to develop great products. I’ll still be a buyer, just not anything from the CQ line.
