My Man! Awesome very focused review for those experienced with mixers/consoles. No mumbling and drifting off topic. I learned more about running it than 5 other videos!

jabiesful I agree. My church just purchased said system. We will begin training on the system later this month. Unfortunately, these videos are very fast, vague, and random. There is no in-depth content concerning each element of the board.

Is there anyway to create a parallel compression channel? Like, if I made Aux 5/6 into a pure drum buss channel, compressed the daylights out of it, then routed it into the drum DCA? How would I route it into a DCA?
@AllenandHeathUK3 жыл бұрын
Hi Aaron, If your Qu has groups, you could send the channels to two group and use one for the compression. The other group can be left unprocessed as it is only needed so that there are no problems caused by latency. Alternatively, if you're using a digital expander, you could assign the same input socket to two input channels in the Setup > IO Patch > dSnake In page. You can then compress one of the channels and use the other channel dry. DCAs don't pass any audio as they simply control the main level fader for the assigned channel. So you could assign the two group main level faders or the two input channel faders to a DCA so you have a single fader control. You can find how to assign channels to a DCA here: www.allen-heath.com/media/Qu-Mixer-Reference-Guide-AP9372_10.pdf#page=44 Thanks! Alex

This video like all the other videos from Allen&Heath UK is too fast, vague, and random. The manual for my QU24 is difficult to understand. I'm a semi pro musician with limited knowledge of digital mixing consoles. I want to use the desk as a daw controller and i'm having a real nightmare setting it up. I'm sure its a great desk but i'm currently frustrated about the lack of information about using this desk as the centrepiece of a recording studio which Allen & Heath claim it does well, but they provide no in depth videos or literature on the subject matter. I'm almost at the point of giving up with it, and going back to my analogue desk. Tech support helped a little, but the knowledgebase section on their website doesn't answer my questions.

Can you do VDO on parametric EQ, Channel parametric eq is not working right, it jump from 234 Hz to 265 Hz, 265 Hz to 325 Hz 374Hz to 450 Hz, Is there a way to get swipe precisely? Thanks
@AllenandHeathUK8 жыл бұрын
Hi San, you can touch the frequency select on the screen and use the screen rotary to give you more precise selection of the PEQ frequency. Hope this helps! HG.

Hi! On the Qu screen, go to Setup > IO Patch > USB Audio and assign your FX returns to a USB channel. Thanks! Alex

I’ve my Qu-24 running fine as a controller for ProTools (11.2.1). Everything works great except I can’t pan a channel left and right. I assumed I had something setup wrong in the I/Os. I’m not quite sure I’m reading the answer above correctly… did Nicola A&H say this isn’t possible? (!) Mixing music with no ability to pan things L/R is not ideal, obviously. Any suggestions on a workaround?

Hi! The Qu series uses HUI and Mackie protocols for DAW control, this allows control for Fader, Mute, Solo and Select functions. Unfortunately this means that pan can not be controlled in this protocol. For more information, please follow this link: support.allen-heath.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/879/201/qu-series-daw-midi-control Thanks! Alex

Is the ratio written in reverse? If I like 1:4, is it shown on screen as 4.0:1? I’m confused a bit. Thanks

We need better training videos A and H. Still no idea what a matrix is, why I need it, or how I set it up !!!
@zepelkerton77729 жыл бұрын
A matrix is a mix of the mix buses. A common use is to it for a monitor mix in a hallway outside your front of house space.

I would like to echo some of the previous comments in that this video proceeds FAR too quickly. Remember, you are speaking mostly to beginning sound techs ... at least new to your mixer. We are not engineers who already understand the board and its technology.
