As someone who struggles with lust, this video was spot on. That’s a personal problem that you need to take radical action for in terms of your relationship with God. You can’t be out here blaming women in the world especially in this society that is so hypersexualized. And yes it might be hard but with God’s omnipotence and infinite power, things can change in someone’s life with result to struggles with lust. You just have to be obedient and open with God in terms of your struggle
@beentheredonethat59082 жыл бұрын
I agree to some degree. I also struggle with lust, and I'm also fairly new to being a believer myself, so if there is scripture going against what I think, I'd be grateful to hear it and change my opinion on the subject. With that said lol, women make it very very difficult on us, men who do wish not to look at them in such a matter and be respectful. I was in a grocery store the other day, and many women in their early twenties came in, the all had a small bikini tops, low hanging short shorts, and I had to about run away and stare at the floor. This behavior was in an inappropriate place, at an inappropriate time, and I just don't see how as a healthy male, the feelings I felt and I'm sure just about every man in there felt, can be blamed on me. I mean I'm not going to say or do anything based on that, but if I was still young I would have been right over there hitting on them, and I had to fight to get my brain back in control. I am a father, I have four insanely beautiful daughters, some around that age, and I taught them self respect at a young age, so they don't do those behaviors, not because I'd get mad, but because I made sure they understood what exactly it does to men, and that they need ro respect themselves, so when a man shows them attention it's for who they are, the things they accomplished, and on merit of marriage , not of physical lust. I get some women may not have that. I try to be very understanding about that, men have failed their daughters and sons. Still, it's a shared responsibility in life between men and women as a whole, I have issues with lust and I KNOW that, I dint blame women for that at all, but I do think they can absolutely understand what they are doing, and should have a touch of humility.
@LJChibueze2 жыл бұрын
@@beentheredonethat5908 hey man! Totally get where you’re coming from. As a young man growing up in this society and in this world, a lot of fetishes and lustful behavior have been unintentionally learned. That being said, as believers, we can’t hold unbelievers to our standard of morality. There’s going to be many people out there that can create the temptation of the “lust of the eye” due to lack of modesty but that’s normal in society especially nowadays. Just have to get into the habit of “removing your eyes” from anything that will cause you to sin. The Holy Spirit within us should give us those convictions. If we are speaking to women in the faith in terms of dressing modestly and being loved and respected by men for who they are and not their physical attributes, I’m with you. But that same standard does not apply to unbelievers unfortunately. We can’t hold people out there in the world to those standards or you’ll be disappointed time and time again

Sorry if this sounds judgemental as I'm as imperfect as it gets, I just think we are way to easy on porn, lust and sexual issues.

This was SUCH an amazing video. Honestly brother you gave way for the Holy Spirit to outdo itself. You are correct! We need to do DRASTIC actions to flee from temptation. The actions might even seems crazy to the people of this world, but that is what we are called to do. If someone is tempted with these things they need to separate themselves from social media. I understand not causing a brother to stumble, but we also need to be taking accountability for allowing ourselves to remain in spaces where we know we are feeling tempted!

Great video. Brother Allen did well. It's all about having self control as the Bible says. You stated it right also. We have to understand what is on social media. There is no control over what is shared on there. We have to be aware of where we are in Christ and what we are battling against spiritually. Like Ruslan stated, we have no business being on social media if it's going to cause us to stumble. I will piggy back on that. We have choose to watch those things because as I mentioned before, due too where we are in Christ. Pray, fast, and read the continually to get stronger against the demons of lust, adultery, etc... Thank you sir for bringing this up because I do express to certain types of people to get off the media due to agree to disagree.....espcially engaging in a conversation like civilzed adults. You also hit the nail right on the head shortly after talking about lust with the message pertaining to "If thy eye offends or causes you to sin pluck it out" I've always thought that when it comes to stuff like that the literal meaning is that you're supposed to turn the other cheek if something offends a person. You're supposed to turn around and go back a different direction, away from what's offending or sinning. Unfortunately we as people are born to sin but we can control how we treat one another.

I dated a guy who was heavy into his “internet usage” and I used to grab his phone and snoop and check and things and let me tell you- after a few months of that- me, a straight a woman who was not enjoying what I was seeing on any emotional level (I was hurt and angry and not attracted to women) started looking at all women differently. It changes your brains y’all- I heard one man say- you don’t have to like a song to find yourself singing every word one day as you clean your car- how much of what we consume too much of is just in there making strong impressions on our brain-whether we like it or not or meant to or not or even realize it. Good video, Ruslan.

I watched Brother Allen’s video. I watched the video with you and your friend (I apologize, I forget his name) and I came back to watch this video. I completely agree with you. It’s easy for us to blame someone else for our weaknesses. It’s easy for us to ask others to walk on eggshells because we have a problem. We need to take full responsibility for our own issues. Those who regularly consume Brother Allen’s content whether you agree with him 99% of the time or not should know his heart. We aren’t always going to agree with everything that comes out of everyone’s mouths. It just won’t happen. Before we crucify people we should look at their fruit. We should ask questions instead of being outright accusatory. Most of all take responsibility for our own feelings and actions. It isn’t someone else’s responsibility to heal us or keep us on the straight and narrow.

Ruslan I think you may have misunderstood the person who addressed Allen's video. I do agree that we should blur out pics like that. Not because it's already out there but bcuz we should not be the one to show it. It's just like we bleep out swear words etc. We can still make the point by using the content but can leave out the unnecessary stuff. I don't think someone should not watch Allen's video if they have a lust problem bcuz they wud miss out on some of the awesome points that Allen shared. So gonna disagree with that point. I'm grateful for Allen's apology and appreciated his adjustments.

Totally agree! The argument that we’re going to see things like that in the world anyway because we live in fallen world has never made sense to me. The world is the world. The church is the church. And the church is called to a higher standard! Yes, the world does sinful things that is out of our control but whether we SHOW those sinful things or not IS 100% in our control. So it’s very flawed logic.

Blurring the image? What about the lyrics not being blurred that was showing those profanity words? Why do you think that Beyonce chose the album cover??? There was a tremendous amount of thought put into her album cover. The image is supposed to be sexually provocative. The image is designed to make you lust after her and to encourage women to flaunt their sexuality. Allen needed to apologize. The power of the image is in her body not just the outfit. Those of us with more sexual physique have to be more careful about how much we show. It caused me to lust after her as well. Her body is just as built as the top tier strippers at Magic City and LIV. That's like telling people that we should be able to watch strippers dance and not lust after them. You based this entire video on your strength in this area. Praise God for that, but most brothers in Christ are weak in this area. The call of the Bible is on both Allen and the viewer, but No one should have to worry about seeing strippers on a Christian KZbin page. We don't see these images everyday because we filter our social media to block it out. I'm everywhere in the streets and I had never seen her album cover. Allen did what he was supposed to do. That's what humility looks like and being more concerned about your weaker brothers. I shouldn't have to filter Allen's KZbin page. And we all love Allen.

Porn and Lust is a huge issue. And what Allen Parr did was a good thing. My wife and I noticed Allen was posting more and more videos on defeating pornography and lust addiction. He’s been making videos despite how many views he gets on them compared to his other videos. He’s been pushing that fight hard this year and people who once struggled with pornography like me applaud him for that… So for him to lead a charge in that fight, I personally did not want to look at the thumbnail he put on the video. I may be free from pornography and lust, but I dare not look at it anyway. Just because I’m free from it doesn’t mean it can’t creep back up and entangle me if I’m not careful. Ultimately, all I did was scroll past his video and not watch it… I’m strong enough to do that. But if men are struggling and they fight hard to keep their KZbin search history and watch history clean (without having to clear their history), we expect someone who has been adamant about fighting porn and lust to not post a thumbnail like that. I may not know a lot about algorithms for KZbin but can’t that open KZbin up to recommending more crap that looks like that? I think what he did was good. Yes whoever is stumbling over a thumbnail should get off social media, but you can’t be a strong advocate on fighting lust yet think it’s okay to post a picture designed to lure struggling men in… He is a teacher and he held himself accountable for doing what the world is already doing. To be real, the second time I saw the Beyoncé image was when scrolling past his KZbin thumbnail. Though it’s everywhere, I avoided it and many other images floating out there. I dare believe that’s the nature of most men who have fought lust and pornography. The avoid it in all walks of life and part might be their first introduction to it. I think he did the right thing. I see what you’re saying, but whenever Parr seems to apologize or take things down, it’s because he really believes it.
