This is one of my best friends and i’m happy him and his dad made it out safe and well. I think everyone else should also be content about that as well, instead of posting these mean and hateful comments. I don’t support these slanderous and disgusting comments towards him, and if I were in the same position, I would also be terrified and lost in words. It would take me time to process the events and things that happened. (as an introvert I would be even worse at explaining anything that happened). Apart from that, choosing him for the interview is the news reporter’s choice and not his. if he didn’t see or hear any shots, he didn’t see or hear any shots. That doesn’t make him the problem and the fault doesn’t lie on him. I do admit that the media could have done a better job of getting more perspectives of people to interview instead of just his (the reporter kept pressing questions even though he didn’t know much about what exactly happened), but please stop being detestable towards him and instead be appreciative that he came out alive unlike the 9 others that weren’t able to make it

I live approximately 12 miles from the Allen outlet mall area. I have been there many times. There are stores such as tjmaxx, Dick's Sporting Goods, a Super Target, Best Buy, convention center where I had my college graduation, and tons of restaurants. I actually did not know it was happening until I came out of walmart across town, put my groceries in the car, and turned on my phone. My mother and sisters sent a message saying there was a shooter in that area and not to go over there. I usually drive with the windows down playing music, and my phone is usually off. The Allen outlet mall is the most populated area in Allen, Texas. Saturday is when most people are out there. It must have been chaos. I actually avoided driving around there later on because I knew it probably blocked off for miles with tons of traffic...

I think the kid was being honest and brave to tell his POV. He was stating the fact that he wasn’t outside where the gunman killed 8, but he was inside the mall where chaos ensued. He gave some valuable insight like how his dad heard gunshots coming from inside the store also, gave away the fact there were 2 shooters. Scary how much the news censor or cover important things. I think the kid did a great job telling how things went down, reporter could use some work.

There weren’t 2 shooters. It’s common during mass shootings for people to think there are 2 shooters. This is because multiple witnesses have different ideas about where the gunshots are coming from. Then these witness accounts are reported to journalists. Mass shootings with 2+ shooters are rare.

As the second amendment clearly states ‘a well regulated militia’, I believe gun ownership should be the same as military service. You have the right to apply to join, but you may not have the ability to qualify to serve. Giving everyone the right to own a gun is like letting everyone into the military, not the best strategy.

Nowhere in the Founder's notes, letters and speeches that they refer to the militia and military as the same. Plainly, the militia is the PEOPLE. This is is equal to asking something that heard about it was kind of near by but not quite. However this is unfortunate this continues to be an ongoing problem here in the U.S. Sooner or later new laws will have to be passed to combat this. Along with allowing for much harsher punishments.
