Thats great when wood shows. In 2019 i had 4 tree services that would drop of a load a day. In 2020 i had 7 tree services dropping off wood. It gets fun trying to keep up.. and yes i had a 22 acre yard to use and the wood yards are never big enough. Sawmill i bought in 2002 is worth way more than its weight in gold. Hour meter quit working prolly 10 years ago and i know it had over 3300 hours on it when it broke. Planks for trailers, and i built new buildings with the lumber, made hard wood flooring for my house and a few others too. Lots of slabs of walnut and oak for people the last 5 years or so. Its never ending tho with wood, which is money in the bank.
@AllenFamilyFirewood Жыл бұрын
I had a mill in the past when i had a tree service an like you built alot of places an decked alot of trailers with it . With all the free logs we get i figured it was time to have another so we could build our pallets that hold our firewood an make some extra $ sawing the wide pine boards that people want . Lumber sells great around here an i could saw 7 days a week an sell it all if i wanted but i really enjoy the firewood side of things an mainly just focus on sawing the 16, 18 ,an 20 in wide pine boards when we get the logs for it . Normally i have to go pick up all our wood at job sites so it was nice having them bring it to us .

semi chisel seems to work marginally better in dirty wood vs full chisel but does not start out quite as sharp, heavier 404 chain similar to what's used on a processor holds up better but you need a saw with the power to pull it. You could also try carbide chain as it starts out semi sharp and stays semi dull longer.

Skip tooth is ok for big softwood, Less clogging. Full chisel in small soft wood is nice for ripping through quick. Full chisel with low rakers might extend your cutting in fine dirt. Nothings good in dirt, less teeth to sharpen maybe, with skip tooth. What do I know. Tap your rakers twice gently with the grinder and let me know how it feels, frig them gages. Keep that wood coming in. Kenny
@AllenFamilyFirewood Жыл бұрын
Thanks Kenny good to know . Im the guy that always takes a few extra strokes with the flat file so the saw pulls ya threw the wood . Most people dont like using my saw because of that but thats a good thing . I take 4 or 5 strokes off the rakers on a brand new chain then round file off the hardness that seems to come on all new chains . Cuts about 1/3 better than a factory chain but ya wana be holden on with that 500 cause it has the power to keep it spinning .

Before the ground was so uneven that logs would just slide off the forks into the mud an dirt . Not only toys are dumb-seems all of society is dumbed down, movies, TV, just crap.
