Any chance I can send you a video of a Logic combi C24? The burner on the indicator goes above the max range on radiator. The temp goes down and then the burner indicator goes on again. Is there a problem with the boiler?

Not sure if you'll read this Allen but this was the best intro to any of your videos and the cleanest and most uncluttered video you've ever done. I'm very proud of how far your videos have come along. Please remain unbiased and try to do a video just like this for as many boilers as possible. Even the Navien (although I'd recommend a manufacturer course first for that one because it looked intimidating). I'd really like to see the same exact specific points for every boiler. Pluses, minuses, maybe start an Allen score system for each boiler. How easy is this part to swap out of 10, that part and that part etc etc. Every boiler gets a score out of whatever. Stainless over aluminium, PRV into condensate gets extra points, cost, warranty, drain off, easy install, modulation rate. You have the viewer base now to start pushing for change and certainly influence engineers so please be careful not to push a particular brand etc. If you recommend stainless over ally and brass hydraulics over composite then more people will realise what makes a good boiler and hopefully induce change in the industry. Sorry for the long message but I've watched your videos for a long time now and this one really stood out. Thank you for what you do already Allen, I hope you can really make a difference going forward.

Looks very easy to work on, nice and compact, stainless steel heat exchanger is a big plus…install is exactly what I would recommended my customers to have in respect to shock arrestor, limescale reducer, magnetic system filter and especially the deaerator, massively under used in my opinion on systems..like that they made it so third party controls can be used, your salus system looks a good bit of kit as well. Had one of these fitted about three weeks ago. It replaced my 20-year-old Baxi 105, which had been limping along for the last few years. So far, this one is great and heats 11 radiators in no time. Hopefully, come winter, it will save me some money.

Fitted 3 of these now.Talon clips plus spacers are really useful when fitting pipe laggin . I have fitted different controls, Honeywell and Nest, which seem to work fine. The boilers took a while to purge. I got good hot water flow and temperatures from each boiler.

Video is great Alan, great intro and great explanation. It's nice to see Worchester moving on to the more modern style of boiler by Viessmann and Baxi. I'm not keen on any rubber components as they tend to degrade quite fast. Brass components are a must along with all the additional kit you've installed beneath the boiler will make it last a long time.

We have several Worcester Bosch Boilers in our workshops and the Boiler Fault finding studio, but we don’t have this one yet. To heat the centre we have the 8000 because we needed a large output because the centre is enormous, but to ensure its energy efficient we have installed the Salus Smart home The system to each room is effectively zoned off. It works a treat!

Great little boiler, Ive stayed away from Worcester before (apart from the RI please worcester never change that boiler!!!) due to being service and repair engineer aswell, I could never understand the thought process of how awkward they were to work on! But first day I saw the 1000 in citys I was impressed. Yes it hasnt got brass valves or built in filling loop. But a stainless steel heat exchanger at a budget price thats a big sell for me! Knowing in 7-10 years time im not gonna be thinking about a pin hole! Also its an easy sell when you explain the stainless over alloy! I know alloy has its benefits but its a gamble! When its gona and you have a £600 heat exchanger to replace it doesnt make it economical at all! Great video!!

I’m an installer and prefer the jigs by far, especially if you’re in a tight space like under stairs or cupboards. I’ve been fitting Worcester since I started 16 years ago so I’m probably just used to them. I can see how they would be a strange adjustment for someone fitting baxi or Vaillant etc. Throwing a Vaillant etc up fast is great provided you have the space to work underneath, this will be the same scenario.

most manus, ask for an hot water expansion vessel, if there is a water meter in the mains. my opinion of this boiler is , good for the price, and easily accessible for service, plus Worcester are very good on support. stainless steel is good providing the system is clean. it does not bloc up the trap, like the aluminium heat ex dissolved oxide can.

Hi alan, we have one of these boilers, only had it a month and broke down twice, both times water was found in the flue, boiler installer is blaming our rowan pipes for overflowing near the flue and yet the old boiler they took out never had an issue, bosch came out and theyre engineer stated poor installation, and the installer has had 2 engineers out, one blames our rowan pipe the other says “its not the flue i think the heat exchanger is leaking”, any ideas, i would have thought if water was collecting in the flue then the gutter that your video shows isnt working as it should to take excess away !

Nice review Al, think spacing off the clips is going to make pipe work take longer to get onto existing feeds than competitors, I'm not sold on the de- aerators as its another component to purchase/position and I find old systems with chemicals kept topped up can have little corrosion over a very long period. What's your current go to budget combi and will you be changing over?

Can you give us some info on the built in controls at the bottom?... I personally, don't like these tiny digital timers, and customers cant get on with them either. You mentioned external controls can be fitted, can you elaborate on this... Eg- 230 volt, 12 volt etc, thanks

Look for a silver braided hose with 2 black valves, move them both inline with the pipe at the same time and once the pressure is at desired shut black valves back off

Just installed one of these. Switched it on ready to comission and it comes up with fault code 2910. Never seen this before. Showing fan or flue issues. Checked integrity, condensate and it doesn’t look like it getting power to the fan. Checked all connections. Do you have any idea what could be holding it off from firing?

Alan, great video. But don't worry about boilers too much. They, come, they go, they change all the time depending on how the manufacturer needs to increase revenue. They will never be as reliable as an old cast iron sectional. Also look after your health before any boilers. Your body is more important than any boiler outside of your control. The deaerator eliminates dissolved gases from the water , while the AAV releases trapped air or gas in a plumbing system.

on the third day or so this new stopped heating water in comfort mode. somehow it still heats water in eco mode, for 2 minutes for a shower. all parameters are good, the chimney is cleaned, etc. it only heats water when the water off, nothing (or couple seconds untill 32 C on flow).

Burner and combustion door are identical to Baxi. Gasket looks the same too. Baxi is reusable, Worcester isn’t. Worcester say strip out burner every 5 years even though it’s easy. I always remove the burner on 600/800 every year for cleaning because it’s so easy.

My go to budget boiler for landlords is the main or baxi, solid boilers, and easy to maintain. I dont really like the 2000 if I'm honest. The condense on them is a bit flimsy. I've had a few leaking, so I had to go back. And also not a fan of the pipe arrangement, same as the 1000 😩 lol 😆

I have this boiler and it is much louder than the 17 year-old Worcester boiler it replaced. I added sound proofing to the boiler cupboard but it is still much louder than I'd like. I wouldn't recommend it.

20:18 - I hate when boilers manufacturers use custom pumps …. They are evil in that … In a Gas 4000 on One of my friend boilers the pump motor shaft broke when It came out of warranty and he had to pay 350E for a new One and the boiler value was 750 E If the pump was a generic wilo or grundfos the price would have been half… + the 3 way valve they use is known to be very unreliable…. Bosch and all the boiler manufacturers they know how to make reliable 3 way valves for cheap but they don’t want to do It …

Don't be fooled by this boiler. Just had it installed 2 days ago and I personally would not recommend it to anybody looking for a reliable product. I didn't choose it because of the price but rather the installers recommended it over the other greenstar models that I initially was leaning towards, like Greenstar 4000. Regardless, 10min after the installation the boiler is dripping water on the front-right corner and is thus loosing pressure. It isn't leaking at the pipe level but rather inside the boiler itself, which makes me think that QA wasn't done right.. Not only that but unlike any other boiler I've had before (And I had 3, including new and old products lilke Greenstar 4000, Vokera 25, Powermax 140), this one is buzzing like a bee. It creates vibrations that travel through the walls and can be now heard in the whole flat, which is extremely annoying. I am now seriously looking into replace this piece of crap and install something more reliable.

I usually choose Worcester becouse of the difference between budget boilers. Now I get hit by something like that

@ 1:52 in the last years this kind of expansion vessels were very unreliable … on all brands of boilers !!! It is not normal after more than 100+ years of making them we should not have expansion vessels that fails after 1-4 years in quite large numbers…

Nowhere as a good as the Baxi main eco compact, The eco compact , bullet proof, Brass, hydro bloc, & components. & filling loop included, Worcester lost there way , when they stopped making CDIs

@@AllenHart999 30 kw version is 7.1kw at 40/30 and 7.01kw at 50/30 and 6.4 kw at 80/60. Ridiculous. Nowhere near good enough. The 24kwh is 5.8 which will be massively oversized for almost any house considering this. Gross that they can claim it's 94% seasonal efficiency. Yeh maybe for a hotel.

Like to see you install a 2000 range. Especially pipes coming up through a worktop. There are shocking. No movement at all really tight to fit all pipes. - the filling link is a joke to fit. And the gas valve is far to tight to the prv. It’s seriously rubbish. And pipes can’t go up the back of boiler. Embarrassing really for such a big company. Another point is a lot of the condense fittings leak. I’m not fitting any more far to time consuming

It’s a Worcester. Which means only one thing. Eventually the plastics will disintegrate and leak. Only three things guaranteed in life, that’s death, taxes and Worcester plastics made from cheese. Apart from that they at least appear to have dragged themselves in to the modern era, typically about twenty years behind every one else. But typically for Worcester they still do stupid stuff. I mean who designs a boiler where the pipe connections don’t bring you clip distance off the wall? I think from memory the leaky flow adapter is behind the pump? Also sending a boiler out with transit screws in the glue connection is just plain stupid. God knows how many of these we will be ARing on the first visit cos the installer never read the instructions. Five year warranty is pathetic. A logic combi is tried and tested. The issues with heat exchangers are long gone. They are cheaper with double the warranty. Is it true this 1000 still doesn’t support open therm? I won’t be recommending these. I’ve had to repair far too many Worcesters for far too many years. I will stick to logics and Vaillants as my recommendation. Or I actually like the newer baxi 800 etc.
