If you know why the long pipe didn't work, please explain it to us in excruciating detail

The failure of a long pipe could stem from various reasons, depending on its purpose, material, construction, and environmental factors. Let's delve into some possible scenarios in excruciating detail: Material Defects: Long pipes are typically made of materials like metal (steel, copper), plastic (PVC), or even concrete. Any imperfections in the material, such as weak spots, cracks, or fissures, could lead to failure. These defects may not be immediately evident during installation but can worsen over time due to stress, pressure, or corrosion. Design Flaws: The design of the pipe, including its diameter, thickness, and layout, must account for factors like fluid pressure, flow rate, temperature changes, and external loads. If the design is flawed or if there were miscalculations in these parameters, the pipe may fail to perform as intended. For instance, inadequate thickness could lead to buckling or collapse under pressure, while excessive length without proper support could cause sagging or bending. Installation Errors: Proper installation is crucial for the functionality and longevity of a long pipe. Mistakes during installation, such as improper alignment, insufficient anchoring, improper sealing, or inadequate support, can compromise the integrity of the pipe. For instance, if the pipe is not properly aligned during welding (for metal pipes) or if the joints are not securely connected (for plastic pipes), it can result in leaks, cracks, or separations. Corrosion and Erosion: Long pipes are often exposed to harsh environmental conditions, including moisture, chemicals, soil movement, or abrasive substances carried by the fluid flowing through them. Over time, this exposure can lead to corrosion (in metal pipes) or erosion (in plastic or concrete pipes), weakening the material and causing structural degradation. Corrosion can occur due to electrochemical reactions between the pipe material and the surrounding environment, while erosion can result from the abrasive action of solid particles suspended in the fluid. Overloading or Overpressure: Long pipes may be subjected to excessive loads or pressures beyond their design limits. This can happen due to factors like increased fluid flow, sudden pressure surges, temperature fluctuations, or changes in operating conditions. If the pipe is not designed to withstand these extreme conditions, it can lead to deformation, rupture, or catastrophic failure. Fatigue Failure: Long-term cyclic loading or repeated stress can cause fatigue failure in pipes, especially in areas of high stress concentration or structural discontinuities (such as welds or joints). Over time, the repeated application of stress can initiate cracks and propagate them until failure occurs, even if the applied stress is below the yield strength of the material. Environmental Factors: External factors such as earthquakes, landslides, soil settlement, or ground movement can exert additional stresses on long pipes, leading to deformation or structural failure. Moreover, changes in temperature, humidity, or exposure to UV radiation can accelerate material degradation and weaken the pipe over time. Lack of Maintenance: Regular inspection, maintenance, and repair are essential for the proper functioning and longevity of long pipes. Neglecting maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, corrosion protection, leak detection, or structural reinforcement, can allow minor issues to escalate into major failures over time. In conclusion, the failure of a long pipe can result from a combination of material defects, design flaws, installation errors, environmental factors, and lack of maintenance. Identifying the root cause of the failure requires careful investigation, including structural analysis, material testing, and forensic examination of the failed components.

Thanks, but we're going to need more excruciating details than that

You're absolutely right that the long pipe adds too much resistance, so instead of flowing air through the "barrel" of the accelerator past the suction tube, it simply blows through both of them. I suspect that if there was more velocity in the air column it could create a suction force from the suction tube again. Sorry if that's not excruciating enough, I don't have a way to do the CFD and I'm too lazy to calculate it the old fashioned way.

Gun: a weapon incorporating a metal tube from which bullets, shells, or other missiles are propelled by explosive force, typically making a characteristic loud, sharp noise.. This IS a gun An explosive force does not have to be from gunpowder it can also be from forced air

I think you need more velocity. This is achieved by a constricted section of pipe before the low pressure inlet.

That's a good idea! It's not shown, but the blower tube going into the t fitting has a nozzle that constricts airflow a bit. There are 2 more nozzles that are smaller that we could try.

That vacuum is far too small. Copy the rig a bee keeper uses to vacuum honey bees. They use a "shop vacuum" connected to a trap box like you're using.

If we rebuilt it, we would consider a stronger vacuum. Had to make due with the parts we had. Thanks for watching

Usually the question 'who?' is answered with the name of the person you are referring to. Maybe you mean it like how answers work in the TV show Jeopardy. So the question is - This youtuber has tree letters in his last name.

while i applaud your innovation and engineering skills , this appears to be in the arizona , new mexico, nevada area and all bees are "killer" when they dont have their queen . If you do in fact have bees in your walls , you should call a bee expert as they have tools to recover the bees (they will put a queen in a box and the bees will come to her) as well as the ability to abate the area and remove any combs . This is a much safer and ecological way to handle this . We need each and every pollinator we can get if we want to survive as a species

We agree that we need pollinators and that rehoming is the best option. As renters we don't have a choice on how the situation is handled. Property management had their pest control company spray chemicals. We hired a bee expert who took the queen, determined they were killer bees and left the rest of the bees. After a month of killer bees in our wall, property management brought in a second pest control company to "remove" the remaining bees. We do have to disagree that the lack of a queen makes bees into killer bees. It's having the Africanized bee gene that makes them killer bees. Thanks for watching.
