Yeah! Those stripes are hard to get, they're like the hair on my dog's back. Lay them down and it pops back up! 😂 Hope to improve when the grass thickens up.

What’s the size of your yard? it looks huge, did you trade size of mower for capability, if so would you do it if you had to choose again?

Yes, my yard is around 27,000 sq ft of mowing. I only reel mow around 8,000 with my 20” Allett that takes roughly 45 minutes. I recently got the 30” Buckingham so I look forward to using it next year. Yes, for the money, I would have chosen the Allett again.

@@SunnyBermuda we are close to the same, I have about 30-31,000 sqft of Bermuda, 11-12,000 of which I would like to stripe etc… What mower do you use on the other parts of yard that’s not being reel mowed, prior to the purchase of the larger reel mower? How do you dethatch, aerate those areas if not using the 20” Allett

I have a ZT and a standard push mower plus a Ryan LawnAire for aeration. I have most all the categories for the Allett. Love that scarify cartridge. 👍

I just bought a Kinsington 17H. Trying to determine whether to get the scarifier, dethatcher or verticuter next. It appears the 2nd attachment to buy in your opinion would be the scarifier? How often do you use it?

In the early spring I used it weekly to clean out years of thatch. I started on a higher setting and slowly move down. It's amazing how much it cleaned out. I was blown away! I now use it monthly and my lawn is the healthiest it's ever been. The dethatcher and verticutter is used twice a year from what the Allett representative told me. Verticutter is my next cartridge, maybe next year.

how often do you mow? I just got mine, exactly like that one, but my bermuda is about 2in high, so I’ll need to work it down, any recommendations?

This is my first year using a reel mower, and I love the little machine. I started off cutting my grass down to 1.25" with my rotary, and then took it down to an inch. I'm just below an inch right now. Probably .8" - .95". I've never topdressed so anything lower and it'll scalp - plan to topdress next spring so I can bring it down to .5 or .75" if I want. I currently mow every 3 days for that nice carpet look. Find me on IG, I post regular pictures and stuff. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy your Allett as much as I am.
