Saw them last night with the Flesheaters. Love the Alleycats...wish Randy would sing the way he did on these incredible Dangerhouse recordings.

Nothing means nothing anymore So close your eyes child and lie on the floor And pretend what you feel is really real And know what is real is what you feel Outside the night sings to the summer rain They had a child and she named him Pain He lost his life hanging around twenty-two Strange, he looks so much like you So close your eyes, pretty country child Outside the lights are bright and the night is wild Out there you're just a straw floating in the wind Come in here pretty child and do it again Little chickens and their chicken hawks They're going to teach you a brand new way to walk When you stare at the moon, your eyes will be hard and cold You'll live your life trying never to grow old

I remember seeing them live in 1980 or 1981 at Magic Mountain. I think they were opening for Oingo Boingo.

What a great 45. I'm unfamiliar with the concept "too much bass." Love their early stuff.

Randy has said its about a young runaway male prostitute and his first trick...and as he got older he trys to stay young by the way he dresses etc. to keep clients (chickenhawks). His inspiration was a hustler on Santa Monica that he saw.

These guys would've fit right on the SST or Discord label. It's a shame they didn't get as big as they should have. It's also pure bullshit that their performance of this song on Urgh! didn't make the soundtrack
@stevenbecker55712 жыл бұрын
It was on the original double-LP version of the Urgh! soundtrack released in 1981 but is missing from the later CD release. It's well worth finding an original vinyl copy - they're not too hard to find and not too expensive, and it contains several other really great songs missing from the CD.
