Not for everyone - Every 5 to 10 feet, I stopped and if need made an adjustment to the trailer. Always had the left - Used the Right to Keep it on time going into the Alley.

I oversteer soo much and this helped me understand what it looks like when I do at certain angles and what it means to “ chase the trailer” when it gets away from you. My dad and trainer kept saying “ chase the trailer” and i did NOT know when or why i should be doing it. This was a great video. Man I'm confused, in school they told me the only time I would make a right turn, is at the very beginning when I'm getting my trailer in the angle, I thought turning right would move you away from the cone on the left. When I did my test I was in a stuck position where I couldn't figure out how to move my tires away from the cone on the left, so I turned the wheel to the right and the tires moved away from the cone, from there I was able to get my truck lined up..but in this video you made a few Right turns and that brought you closer to the cone 😵💫.. I need help understanding how turning the steering wheel to the right brings you closer to the cone vs taking you away from the cone. In class I made my first initial hard right, then straight wheel, hard left was the rest of the maneuvers until I got stuck
@truckerstevecdlinstructor7 күн бұрын
@@eyecyallcnme3197 90 degree alley dock. First move is your setup - Steering wheel to the Right. Back up a short distance. Next - steering wheel back to back straight and back up about 10 feet Now it’s time to Think 🤔 Where is the trailer heading? You are the Boss of the Trailer - you must make the correct decisions with your steering wheel to control the trailer movement. ( I like to be close to the left cone ) Practice and practice until your motor skills kicks 🦵 in.
