i feel like people overhype her way too much... the 80s sound is obviously nice and it sounds quite authentic,but i have so many issues with her songwriting which sounds just like any other alternative artist nowadays. i'd rather listen to Riki if i wanted 80s darkwave goodness that *actually* sounds like it was written in the 80s.

I think that type of success comes from being a highly acclaimed artist whose audience are not the masses, but the people who enjoy this type of music. Obviously everyone wants to be known by a lot of people, but that doesn’t always make someone a better artist. But yeah, she’s fenomenal, also Jessie Ware has an incredible style and still doesn’t have the recognition it deserves.
