I think that overall, drugstore brands have really stepped up their game with the quality of their products! And with the way the makeup world has evolved over the last few years, I think they've kind of had to to keep up with the demand for and popularity of makeup that has been established with the rise of beauty KZbinrs and Instagram and all that, and while high end makeup is and has been in high demand, not everyone can afford that!. So while I do think there was a period of time that drugstore makeup was kind of looked down upon, like you mentioned, I'd really like to also think that that's less common due to the amazing drugstore products that have been put out in the last few years, and it's thanks to people like you for featuring those and helping us find the really good stuff! :)

for awhile I stayed away from drugstore because I remember it being super crappy in the early 2000s. but the last 7 years or so I feel like drugstore has REALLY upped their game, so now drugstore is all I ever go to now! Idk if you've already done this, but I'd love to see a full face of dupes since you try so many affordable alternatives!

I totally agree! These products are amazing! I prefer the elf primer infused bronzer in the shade forever sunkissed over my Benefit hula bronzer. I feel like the shade is so similar but i like the elf formula better! Blends amazing every time.

Thank for sticking with drugstore makeup! I always tell my friends what I have on is drugstore! I think they're so many great products at the drugstore. I do think that eyeshadow is something that you should splurge on but thanks to companies like colourpop you don't have to break the bank for quality eyeshadows.

my all time favorite concealer is the wet n wild photofocus! I don't have to set it (which I love) and it never creases or looks cakey. I find I can layer it too if I need to touch up anything during the day. Seriously the best!

Drugstore products I absolutely love are the L’Oréal fresh wear foundation which I know you’ve tried before, the Milani conceal and perfect concealer, the Milani bakes blush in luminoso, the elf wow brow gel, and the maybelline super stay pressed powder. I don’t know if you tried all of those but you should if you haven’t!

I love the elf monochromatic color sticks. They blend nicely and give a pretty wash of color that lasts all day for a natural "no makeup" look. I would love to know how they stack up to the new fenty cream blush or their matchsticks.

Hi Allie I just wanted to say that you are such a role model and I look up to you so much :) ALSO I agree that "cheap" makeup doesn't mean it looks cheap. that's what I tell myself when I want to buy something expensive instead. Nobody will actually be able to tell how much my face of makeup costs by looking at it (there are lots of videos of guessing drugstore vs high end makeup from just looking and it shows that it really doesn't make a difference lol) This is from someone who has mostly high end makeup

The Maybelline Dream Radiant Liquid foundation is AMAZING!! It looks like skin It has a beautiful radiant finish!! It’s medium coverage I spot concealer on a couple more stubborn spots and used it with the Elf Camo Concealer under my eyes and i looked full coverage and flawless!! This foundation wore beautiful and didnt transfer!! Also I am one of the fairest people and can never find shades that match me perfectly and the lightest shade 00 Alabaster is PERFECT!! I have such great luck with Maybelline base products and I think you will love it too!! You’re so beautiful Love you Allie!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love finding great quality makeup at an affordable cost! Some of my current favs from the drugstore is the maybellline fit me hydrate and smooth foundation, Elf hydrating camo concealer, elf beautifully bare pressed powder, elf primer infused bronzer, milani baked blushes (love berry amore), elf baked highlighter, elf wow brow, elf no budge showdow sticks (SO AMAZING, nobody talks about them), maybelline Big Shot mascara, revlon bullet lipsticks are my fav over higher end makeup. I love their HD lipsticks as well for shiny look ! I know i mentioned a lot of elf but I can't help it, they are such great products!

I loved how you used the Revlon Candid foundation on the inner portion of your face and then used the Revlon Candid Glow foundation on the outside perimeter. I have been mixing the wet n wild photofocus foundation with their new Dewy foundation and I’m loving the end result 💕👍🏻. I’m definitely going to try your technique ! I love going to the drugstore and trying different products! One of my new favourites is Milani's Hypnotic Lights Eye Topper in the shade Lustre Light. It is a beautiful rose gold sparkle! Another all time favourite eyeshadow product is the Covergirl Truenaked eyeshadow pallette in Sunsets. Its gorgeous and is a dupe to the Anastasia Beverly Hills New Renaissance pallette.

That Elf Halo Glow setting powder performs better than any of my high end powders-it is incredible. I was considering buying the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder palette but this does everything that palette claims to do. I’m sure the ambient lighting powders are amazing, but if I’m happy with the Elf I’m going to save myself $60! My favorite foundations are the Physician’s Formula Healthy Foundation (I’m still so upset that it’s being discontinued!) and the Neutrogena Hydroboost. I have high end foundations as well, but none work as well as these on my skin. And those Milani lip glosses? Perfection. This was such a fun video-thank you!

I actually started wearing makeup with High end. I was 20 years old and didn't wear makeup nor did I even have the faintest idea how to do my makeup. At the time I did not have a good relationship with my mother so I didn't feel comfortable asking her, besides her opinion of makeup was that I didn't need and shouldn't wear it. And of course this was WAY before KZbin. So I would go to the mall and go to the high end counters like Lancôme and have them try stuff on me and ask them about technique. So of course I always bought those expensive products. As a result I always thought that High end was so far superior. But fast forward to know, and I almost never buy high end makeup. I just ADORE drug store. I feel that the quality of drug store makeup has gotten SO high and you can get just the same if not a better look for a much more affordable price.

As the previous person said, same here😁 I remember going to Dillards and trying out various make up brands. This is back when Prescriptives was around, long gone. I would buy expensive foundation, concealer, lipsticks, and I I just thought everything was so much better than drugstore. Probably was better at the time but fast forward to today, I bearly wear makeup and color is the last thing I spend a lot of money on. Only thing I still love is my estee lauder concealer and their powder foundation but I'm sure I could find something similar at the drugstore.

I have a Revlon blush in that same packaging but its Naughty Nude and it is my favorite everyday blush and I have bought several high end blushes in the past that I don't wear because I love it so much! It also has a little bit of a sheen so I can get away without putting highlighter on when I wear it!

I really like using the phoera foundation. It is really waterproof, and since I work outside it stays on all day long! I also like using the Nyx finishing powder. I love using the elf HD powder too. The band The waterproof mascara is my most favorite. I also use born to glow liquid illuminator oh my cheeks.

You're so right, there are some amazing products available on the high street now, the quality has really improved - brands like NYX and Nip & Fab have suddenly made great makeup very affordable. My current favourite mascara is the Falsies Lashlift by Maybelline and i've used the high end brands for 20 years. No more! Also recently discovered C.Y.O. - brilliant foundation, stays put. I was the same with makeup before college, I used drugstore products and then when I was in college, I branched out to high end, my first high end purchase was from Urban Decay the Naked palette. I have been loving drugstore mascaras and lipsticks compared to high end, my two favorite mascaras are the Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift and the L'Oreal Bambi Eye mascara's. The lipsticks are also Maybelline and L'Oreal.

My foundation obsession was the Rimmel match perfection foundation for ages. I had changed skin types due to an acne product but since my skin is back to “normal” I want to retry it again. That to me used to be my go to. It lasted well and was amazing. The only down side is that I felt like getting one of their new shades was that it more watery. But I liked it still.
