Any body of water anywhere a gator can live is gator habitat. And I do mean any body of water no matter how small. They will travel over land to get to other water areas. In fact we just avoided running over one just a week ago that was crossing the road and the water it came from and was going to was not close by. Today there was another larger one run over by a car in the same stress of road. So basically you cannot avoid it if in any part of Florida, SC, GA, and Gulf Coast states.

One time my friends and I were canoeing. One of my friends thought it would be a good idea to flip our canoe. So we brought it to the shore and dumped out the water. As we re-launched, I got in last bc I am the lightest, it was too deep for me to push my foot off of the bottom until I felt a solid wood type structure... I quick popped up into the canoe and the “wooden structure” floated up and had very sharp teeth. It still gives me chills to this day. I cannot understand putting your life on the line for money, if you really feel the need to do such a thing take a buddy with you. Ridiculous that he did this.
@annied18272 жыл бұрын
Why not ?? Every person in the world put their life on the line everyday for money your self included !! , think about it everytime you get in a car, train, bus etc or go out walking to work your risking your life for money, people forget you don't have to be someone who does extreme sports or in a high risk job to be risking their lives as anything can happen accidents happen every day you could be hit by a bus , in a car accident, in a derailed train, everytime you get in a plane to go on holiday there is a chance it could fall out the sky hey you could be murdered by someone walking past you, everytime you leave home you risk your life saying that you can also easily die at home in a accident or fire etc too !! The difference is you along with everyone else just thinks it won't happen to me you don't think when you get in your car that you may die today I'm pretty sure my best friend never thought as he got in the car oh I might die today, no he'd been chatting to his sister about his 21st birtday the day before and how great it was spending time with good friends and that tonight id promised to cook his favourite, and he was looking forward to coming to see me and eating good food and watching a film with me, but that's what happened he died on his way to see me in a head on car collision and he was instantly killed, not once did he think I might die today no one ever thinks that just like I'm sure everytime you get in a car or on a train you never once think I wonder if I'll die in this car today, or if you get on a plane do you think well this might crash and kill me no you don't you think of what your going to do when you get there on holiday, I personally won't get on a plane because the idea terrifies me. So when you ask why do people risk their lives every day for money ask yourself the same question as that exactly what your doing each day and I'm pretty you will get the the same answer as anyone would give you because we have to live your life get on with it earn money to eat, meet friends, go out and to what people do you can't think I may die today everytime you get in a car or leave the house if you think like that you would go insane. yes there are high risk jobs been in the military is one and I've lost friends due to been killed when on tour, flying planes, working with wild animals etc and they live till they die of old age, but as I said you can just as easily be killed crossing the road or driving your car

When I lived in south Florida we used to sometimes put the waverunner into areas where a number of gators sun themselves on the boat landing. I was always afraid what would happen if we tipped over, much preferred to stuck to the intercoastal and ocean. But here in coastal South Carolina we have plenty of gators as well and they have been found on the beaches around Charleston because they use the brackish rivers that all dump into the inlet. We actually almost ran over a smaller one crossing the road just last week, we stopped to make sure it safely got across but these guys will travel a pretty good distance over land to get to another body of water. You must assume that any water evwn small retaining ponds will have a gator in it and keep your dogs far away.
