Really cool to see an older combine, especially the much loved Gleaner, still active.

I hauled one out of Kansas to Dekalb IL one day. It had scales and a bagger located one the side. The grain head was the width of the drive tires and wasnt an OD load so that makes it less than 8 foot since the company didnt have any 102 trailers at the time

"Walker" refers to the straw wakers witch are located behind the thrashing cylinders. What is moving at the bottom of the combine is the sive's .

Great Video. I work in a Seed Company and drive a Haldrup 85C Plot Combine.

We have come a long way since then, I wonder what they used to plant such small test strips?

Were these test plots run by a university or some seed company? Great video. I like the old equipment, although this one is fairly new compared to the ones that we used when I was on the farm growing up. Thanks for the video.

The test plots are raised for a local seed and chemical company I believe.

great great great. I would love to know how many bean acres that machine could work in a day. Also, what typical size farm it was suited for. Thanks again

I would guess this combine was built for the 130 to 250 acre farm.

Reminds me of my Grandpa's Gleaner F. It had no cab & was very dusty and dirty! It had a little 6 cylinder gas burner. It was one of the car engines, but I'm blank on which one. Does this one have two fuel tanks? Thanks again BTP!

Was it the Chrysler Slat Six? Commercial version of course, different from the car engine.

I want to think it was a Chevy 6

I'm from McLean Co ky and my neighbor used nothing but Allis machines. He has 2 of these combines.

Very cool. We filmed some AC 4wds in 2011 in McLean County. We also film several AGCO machines near Island each year.

bigtractorpower I probably know who it was. I know of another farm that uses 4wd Allis they had fields up the road from my house. Now as far as agco, Thompson farms is the only ones I've seen with agco products. they've had several challenger tracked tractors along with a 4wd and a lexion 570r. They are mainly John deere now.
