TheLegend27 - You say that but then why do we celebrate culture? That is by definition the behaviour of a group. Humans are tribal, it’s built into our DNA for millennia. If only humans could also be more kind, everything would be ok.

I wrote this for anybody feeling the way you're feeling. just know im with you and I'll continue to use my tool of writing to try and make any difference I can. Hearts shattering so loud, no sound, lost to the crowd, God forbid you let them earn, God forbid you let them learn, Respect is earned but you won't let them, Red lines and quotas dictate their agenda, You don't see people you see a pigment, You see a thug, You see someone beneath you, They just want to matter, They just want to march peaceful, Until fires get set by the devil, deceitful, Anchors morals sinking like anchors, Speaking lies to the people, Confusion sets in, judgement gets clouded, Rubber bullets set in, broken skin from the pounding, What should have been peaceful turned into a crime scene, A long winded bad dream, You set up this system, you created this cycle, Now you run in fear acting like it's come back to bite you, When you're the one gnawing at the skin, With venomous oppression making sure it sinks in, You see a color and you make a fuss, You say they are they, when really they are us.

Why instead of being intolerant of the experiences he has had you question why It’s okay to have the experience. In other words you want him be silent as if those experiences never happened. Unfair and unfortunate that people don’t care unless it impacts them directly or someone they know. This is exactly why there is a need for the black lives matter movement. Not because all lives don’t, simply because whatever happens is the victims fault even when you have audio and video. First off, I am a "white" man who 2 years ago 3 cops took my wives keys after ruffing her up outside our house and just bc I said out my window " hey buddy , you do know you are hurting my wife for NO reason...he ripped the keys out of her purse smiled up at my window while spinning my wives keys on his finger as he said and I quote "I'll be up to deal with you...well I was holding the dead bold while three cops were in my breezeway yelling through my door that if I don't let go of the dead bolt they would kill me when they did get in...well they didn't know my 16 year old son who was scared to death thought it was a home invasion...he had no Idea what was going on bc he had his xbox loud until they finally busted through w/out a warrant , I managed to call my mother while I was holding the door and left it on the ground so she could hear what they where saying...well as soon as they busted in bc I wasn't strong enough to hold the dead bolt for long...the maniac out of the three officer Wayne Russel of the Cranston police dept came in swinging his pistol , the 1st blow dropped me then he handcuffed me while I was half unconscious and started saying "STOP GOING FOR MY GUN" I said "I'M CUFFED BEHIND MY BACK WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT SO HE THEN PUNCHED ME SO HARD IN MY TEMPLE IT KNOCKED ME OUT HE THEN LIFTED ME UP I started to come to and then he looked at me for about 3 secs and punched me again directly in my eye which also banged my head off the corner of the wall then luckily my son stuck his head out the door and they realized they might be on camera so as they brought me out to the cruiser...Mr Russel whispered in my ear "if you think I'm going down for this you aint seen nothing yet...then as I was put in the cop car another cop told me on the way to the station that it "behooves" you to keep quiet about your injuries bc if you don't it could prolong you at court and you might have to go to jail for weeks maybe...mind I tell you that I am sick , 39 years old with cirrhosis of the liver, hep c among a laundry list of other physical issues that are destroying my body. the point is that I'm trying to make is that this IS NOT A BLACK VS WHIT ISSUE!!! this is a cop vs poor people issue...and I WILL NEVER KNEEL OR BOW TO ANY MAN BC OF THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN....EVER!!!! LONG STORY SHORter...they dropped all charges and expunged it from my record with the promise that I wouldn't sue them or call the news...at the time I was and still am too sick to handle years of depositions in court wondering if this evil man could walk so I took the deal, so I reluctantly did....so pass this story on and know that it's not just the "black folks" that deal with this horror...if my son was not there this man WAS NO DOUBT going to kill me. PERIOD...but I can tell ya there would be NO protests on behalf of me...what does that tell you.

Honest question: Why is it that people always argue that discrimination is OKAY as long as it's something you can change about yourself? Having tattoos is your fault, you can wear contacts instead of glasses, you can lose weight if you're fat, get a wig if you're bald, wear makeup for acne, padded bra if you're flat chested, etc, etc. So, basically, the idea of people being *complete total assholes to other people for arbitrary reasons* is perfectly acceptable. They just can't do this based on someone's race, because.... Let's not change people being idiots! Instead, let's tell all the people suffering discrimination to change *whatever they can about themselves* so that they're accepted better into society, except POC. They don't have to change. Everyone else does.

No. This is proving the experience of black people/poc and how disproportionately the world views them in comparison to others/white people. While you had 2 fingers left, most, if not all black people have none - ZERO. This is also proving that it's not as common or likely to happen to a white woman/person, like yourself. Your skin color is one of your privileges is the world. It doesn't mean you'll always be treated fairly and equitably, but your life and livelihood isn't always on the line either. Ours is.

@@ToP5ReP color has nothing to do with privilege at all. And if you would read the comments a lot of African Americans had more fingers left up then I did. Everyone wants to cry white privilege, but color has nothing to do with it. Wealth and power is privilege. The color of my skin makes me no different than you. Perfect example. My 6 year old cousin was being bullied and beat up by an African American and my cousin stood up for himself and punched the kid and they tried to charge a 6 year old with a hate crime for defending himself. Where is the privilege in that? Another example is it is ohkay for African Americans to walk around and call white people racial slurs but once a racial slur is said to an African American its a hate crime, and discrimination. Where is the privilege in that? Another example if white people were to walk around with white lives matter signs we'd be targeted as racist. My point as I've been saying all day is not one cultures lives matter more than anothers. I do not agree with any movement that singles in on just one group. All lives matter no matter what. Also, just because I am white doesn't mean I don't fear for my life. You dont know how or where i live or grew up.

It’s in her blood, (Emmett Till). Then after he had all this discrimination against him, all ten fingers down he still decided to marry his oppressor. It was a pointless video, it had nothing to do with BLM , it was a BM trying to show off his white family. Impress your oppressor. It would had made more sense for him to have black and white guys in it.

People are saying we need to sit down at the table and have a “conversation” about racism. Unless we are willing to bring this cold reality to the table, there’s no need for conversation: “WHITE WOMEN ARE THE PERPETUATORS AND THE BIGGEST BENEFACTORS OF RACISM AND WHITE SUPREMACY.” Women are their children’s first teachers. They help to develop their characters and instill important values within them. Chauvin didn’t become the heartless, racist cold-blooded murderer at the moment when he killed George Floyd. We saw the fruit of the seeds that were planted in his psyche from his formative years when he was with his parents. Children are taught to hate and to be racist either directly or indirectly by the people who parent them. As long as white women teach their children white supremacy and racism, nothing will change; this cancer and scourge on society will continue to be passed down fro generation to generation.

In our society, Whiteness is a default standard; the background of the figure-ground analogy from which all other groups of color are compared, contrasted, and made visible. From this color standard, racial/ethnic minorities are evaluated, judged, and often found to be lacking, inferior, deviant, or abnormal. Because Whiteness is considered to be normative and ideal, it automatically confers dominance on fair skinned people in our society. Whiteness would not be problematic if it weren't (a) predicated on White supremacy, (b) imposed overtly and covertly on People of Color, and (c) made invisible to those who benefit from its existence. Seen from this vantage point, Whiteness is an invisible veil that cloaks its racist deleterious effects through individuals, organizations, and society. The result is that White people are allowed to enjoy the benefits that accrue to them by virtue of their skin color. Thus, Whiteness, White supremacy, and White privilege are three interlocking forces that disguise racism so it may allow White people to oppress and harm persons of color while maintaining their individual and collective advantage and innocence. If we are to overcome, or at least minimize the forces of racism, we must make Whiteness visible. As long as Whiteness remains invisible and is equated with normality and superiority, People of Color will continue to suffer from its oppressive qualities.

My son who is white went out to is car at 2.45 am to go to wrk at publix. Outa nowhere a cop came up to him n yelled GET DWN ON THE GROUND. NOW! N he was holding a police dog. My son ws terrified. He said. Im. Going to my job. He let him gt up. Turns out dwn aways some guys were looking n maybe tryin to brk into cars in his complex. Yeah. So the cop just assumed my son ws part of it. I was so angry when he told me. So this stuff nt only happens to black guys. This shouldnt have happened. Black or white. Yur nt safe in alot of situations. Just dnt lose yur cool or u can lose yur life😳
