That movie really opened doors for all of the amazing actresses in it. Octavia Spencer - Oscar winner, Viola Davis - (now) Oscar winner, Emma Stone - (now) Oscar winner, Jessica Chastain - multiple Oscar nominations, Alison Janney - has her own TV show and is the major threat to win the best supporting actress Oscar this year and Bryce Dallas Howard - has got a franchise (Jurassic World) out of it.

So many Oscar nominees and winners at that table. Love Allison. Can't speak about most of the women at that table, but Allison is truly a class act. Love her! 4:53 That's when I got to interview her. She did a great job in the show as well. Her Tony nomination was well deserved.

I get that women are finally getting a chance to address these issues of harassment but why aren’t they asking the men about this epidemic that is centered around them. This issue is not one sided, please make this topic equal for all involved.
@marshmallowlover977 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's like what Amy Adams said in the previous roundtable, that they don't want to be the headlines anymore. Nothing is going to change if we keep asking women about it, 'cause they're not the ones doing the harassment. Ask that at the producers roundtable, ask actors but don't make this actresses roundtable only about that.

Allison Janney is a terrific actress and she's very lucky that she never experienced sexual harassment. It's exactly for the reasons why she stated. Most of the predators go after young, attractive women who have less power than the predators.

You heard that, they were aware. No one did anything. The greatest enemy is silence and complacency with the silence while you know it's going on. Do nothing and ignore it. Let it happen and then later act like a hero. Get rewards. Bring home statues. Buy big castle in gated community. Turn a blind eye. Wash rinse and repeat.

Again,, what was anyone who wasn't involved supposed to do about it? Can you just go over to your neighbor and tell him he better stop doing bad things, boy? Yeah, that would be effective. I am really sick of people blaming everyone but those who were committing the offenses. ONLY they were to blame.
@tanyabrown69697 жыл бұрын
a Do you think it's okay to look the other way and not blow the whistle on a rapist or molester ? If you know who the culprit is and dine with him and do public appearances with him, while knowing his "secret" you ARE involved. You have done something, by doing absolutlely nothing. Your silence is what keeps the cycle of victimization going. Imagine how many lives could have been protected if the people who knew said something.

The reasons why the male actors don't get grilled about the harassment issue at these THR roundtables: (1) The Hollywood Reporter wants more confessional stories from harassment victims, who are more likely to be women. (2) Male actors are more likely to have secrets about being complicit or committing harassment themselves. That's not something they're going to confess during a roundtable where they're trying to convince people they deserve awards. The Hollywood Reporter knows this, and that's why the male actors aren't constantly interrogated about this serious issue.

Its crucial that we women/they in hollywood take responsibility for not coming and reporting these crimes 20 years ago. Because of their action - and their need for money, power, career, Oscar which they have chosen - of staying quiet, 20 years 'worth' of women got abused, harassed and raped. Disgraceful. Emma whatever her name in her feminist BS need to look at herself and question if she chose money and roles over talking about something that she was well aware of. I do not have respect for the women who came forward 20 years later. They are not victims. What real victim - snatched on the street - is offered money or an Oscar while being raped? They are the real victims. Lets not forget that.
@su-rv2uq7 жыл бұрын
What any victim should have done was go to the police if a crime was committed. No one who was not involved in any crime could say anything about anything. Ever heard of hearsay, innocent until proven guilty, slander? Would you use your brain?
