The betas for both are frigging insane, but for very different reasons. The HL2 beta was an even more nightmarish dystopia than what we ended up getting, whereas the portal 2 beta was an insane technological fever dream

Dunno if it was just my experience playing it but given what we see from Gordon's eyes, the citizens live kinda like ppl under the occupation of the Soviet union, rather than a nightmarish extra dimensional alien combine most of the time. Similarly, this portal 2 beta feels way more... Decadent and bizarre than what we got.

This very video was what led me to discovering Tally Hall for the first time. I was born at just the right time to possibly have listened to them, but I wasn’t a music person growing up. Now at 17, I wish I had found out about them earlier. EDIT: now I’m 18, and I still stand by this statement. I still wish I discovered them sooner. SECOND EDIT: 19. Same as above, they’re still a great band. THIRD EDIT: Turned 20. Nice to see that most members ( I say most because… Joe Hawley ) are doing okay following the hiatus of the band. Andrew Horowitz and Rob Cantor are still doing music, and Zubin is getting into medical stuff.
