I would try to fit the suitcases inside each other because that saves a ton of room. For books, I only keep books that I know that I will reread or that I want to save for my kids because they are classics or special to me. If I don’t love it and can’t see myself retreading then there is no point in keeping them. For papers, I have a filing folder that keeps things organized for me, my husband, and the dog.

How do you organize your papers in the Filing folder?

@@---nj7hl I have a section for myself and my husband each that is just really general: all medical records, tax information, legal documents. Then I have a section for my dog that has his shot records and tags. We also have one for house stuff like refrigerator manuals etc

as much as i love the decor / makeover videos, i REALLY love the ones where you're cleaning / organising rooms or small areas around your home! especially when you can see at the end that it's so much more organised & functional for you. they're so satisfying to watch 😍

I agree, you should get one of those tall bin shelving units. You know the metal or plastic ones that can go in the corner and hold the plastic bins. Vertical storage will help the space.

I like “work with what we have.” Today I am taking a trip to the food pantry to donate surplus we don’t use anymore. When the pandemic hit we prepare for the worst. So now that it is winding down a little, I have gone back to more fresh foods. All I am donating is current on date and looks clean and nice. I have to mention that we did not panic shop. We started prepping way before. So we constantly buy and rotate for everyday use and donate surplus.

So glad that system works for you! That's the best part of decluttering - letting go of what doesn't bring you joy anymore! I still love my decor, but if it ever doesn't bring me joy - out it will go!

@@AllisonMcPhail ,yes, absolutely! I came to realize my joy was in shopping, but the clutter led to overwhelm. I’ve learned I have to stay out of Target and just shop online to buy what I need and nothing else!

@@michelleb6395 Yes! I recently Decuttered my Apartment Again! Twice in the last 6 months. Just looking around at how much Junk I had was a huge Burden Off my shoulders. One thing that Motivates me is the term, "How do You eat an Elephant??" Small bites! Baby steps. I start wherever I'm more inclined to lol 15 min here and 15 min there. Not so Overwhelming After All :D

Along with all the great suggestions I read in the comments you can buy an over the door iron board holder to get it out of the walkway too. I noticed you kept wanting to move it and then put it back 😉 Have you considered putting plants like Pothos on the ledges of the landing? They're easy to maintain and it might help avoid piles of stuff from collecting there. It would be pretty too as they grow

Thank you for the video ❤️ I was waiting for this video since a long time 😍 the result is so great and satisfying 😍 some tips I have is to put small suitcases in the bigger one, for the paper maybe have a filing system for them and for the books bookshelves that could be in the office room, the sentimental item I keep them all in one bin. I’m looking forward for the future update for the room with the matching bins and new shelving unit 😍 All the best ❤️

Great job ! Maybe move the organizing holding bin down one shelf for easier reach. If any smaller suitcases fit in a big one that always helps (and using decor on those shelves could work for storage and to look cute (example - adorable green fake plant on a shelf in there)

I agree with you I think you can trim some of the space like Jodi said. Also, wrap up all those computer plugs instead of piling them in a box you'll be surprised how much space they take up. Also, look online in places like Facebook Marketplace and you should be able to find less expensive storage items than those found in stores. Definitely trimmed down the clutter it looks really good and puppy approves.
