Purchased this same machine last week. If you will read the User Manual, it specifically states the the "Deep Fill" setting fills the machine to a specified water level "Independent" of the setting selected. Saw one part of your video that actually showed your laundry above the water level. Almost all of the settings do not allow enough water so the clothes actually turn over in the drum. Most of the loads I have done stay in the bottom of the drum. The lower level of the "agitator" pulls my laundry around it at the bottom while the upper level on the body of the agitator is out of the water and actually dry. The Delicate cycle actually puts more water into the tub than the Normal cycle but agitates at the same speed as a normal cycle. So that being said, I will not be using the Delicate cycle because it is so very rough on my clothes. This machine and most of the newer machines "sense" weight and determine how much water to put into the drum. This has nothing to do with the type of fabric or soil condition. You state you have a large family but most of your comments indicate your loads are medium to small loads. The new machines also take much longer to wash a load of clothes so your large family may be waiting days to get all their clothes clean. If there is not enough water in the drum to allow the clothes to turn over and actually allow the water and soap to be drawn through them, there is no way these clothes get clean. Unfortunately for those of us who have had to purchase a new machine and become familiar with EPA and government regulations , this just sucks. I am currently trying to find a machine that i can actually add more water to and it is not easy. This machine will go back to the store this week. So very disappointed in this Maytag appliance.

Do NOT buy a Maytag.. they are garbage now. I found out the hard way. 2 years old and won't cycle. Parts are outrageous. A new timer is almost as much as I paid for the washer... same with a new circuit board. Lid latch that is merely a electronic magnet is $93. To have a service call automatically means around $200 for one hour plus parts. The warranty is only 1 year and useless.

What you have there is not an agitator. It is an agipeller. An impeller with a center post. The problem with thee auger being fixed, instead of being dual action, is that it causes the load to just bob up and down instead of rolling over. Impellers cause the load to bloom. Which means, that the load rolls over from the center, out! A traditional agitator has fins on the bottom wash plate. Whether flex fins or fixed. Traditional agitators cause the load to roll over towards the center. If your agipeller was a dual action agipeller, that spiraled upward, it would have an amazing roll over.

From 7:00 to 7:45 the clothes were moving around, but they aren't being pulled into the agitator. If you saw my older machine, the clothes are moving across the top, into the agitator and down, returning to the top, near the drum wall, constantly. The gearbox waa the key to the whole design. The goofy complexity of the front load, makes me look at the top loaders. Anyhoo, thanks for the video!

Go to a coin laundry and check out the machines. Most use Machines made by Alliance Laundry Systems of Ripon, Wisconsin. Alliance markets several brands, including Heubsch, IPSO, and Speed Queen. Their home market version of the commercial top-load machines is the SPEED QUEEN TC5000WN; it uses the same motor and mechanical components as the commercial coin machines. It has two fill settings, normal and "DEEP FILL". It is not a particularly quiet machine and the basket size is not particularly big (3.2 cubic feet), but it is built to last 25 years and can turn out a load in under a half-hour. The TC5000WN has been getting pretty good reviews on KZbin, but stay away from any Speed Queen with the product code prefix "TR". Reviews of the TRs have been almost universally less than favorable. Another possibility might be the MAYTAG COMMERCIAL model MVWP575GW (this is a totally different machine from the Maytag "COMMERCIAL TECHNOLOGY" machines at the big box stores). The Maytag COMMERCIAL and Speed Queen machines will not be available in big-box stores such as Home Depot or Best Buy, but you can find them at smaller furniture and appliance stores, mostly the "mom-and-pops". The Speed Queen will probably be more expensive than the Maytag, but the SQ has all metal components in the transmission as opposed to plastic gears in the Maytag, and the Maytag has the potentially trouble-prone "DUAL ACTION" agitator (I've had a machine with the dual-action, and I had to replace the 'dogs' twice, a ringing endorsement for a one-piece agitator). Either the Maytag COMMERCIAL or the Speed Queen will be a good performer and will give long and relatively trouble-free service.

@@clemsonbloke No, I am not too young, and yes I know what I am talking about. I have hands on experience with ALL versions of washers. In my house, I have always had two washers and dryers. My front loader is the only one that has yet to be replaced, and its almost 18 years old. The other was top loaders. We had a KENMORE dual action agitation washer set. It was ok, but wasn't working as well, didn't fit bulky bedding or wash it well, plus we had a big family so that 2.9 cu.ft capacity wasn't going to cut it, after that was replaced with a dual action he belt drive dual action washer, it was better, still couldn't effectively wash bulky bedding, and lacked in quality. we replaced that set for a whirlpool cabrio h2o low washer and dryer, and they were hands down the worst set I've ever owned and used. We replaced that set with a samsung top loading he set. Its better than the whirlpool but still sucks at cleaning. Its going to be replaced with an LG front load. Through all those washers, the front loader, not only made it through almost 18 years of heavy use, but its also never had a service call except for the door lock once about seven years ago. I had the best wash experience in savings and performance with a front loader. Tell me how I don't know how things work. I wasn't born yesterday. I prefer front load, you prefer old school top load, that's fine.

0:40 That is not an old-school agitator. That is an impeller with a screw bolted on top. An old-school agitator would either have fins at the base extending to the top of the dasher or a screw that turns in one direction only, pulling the clothes down into the fins t the bottom. The screw turning back and forth does nothing to circulate the clothes into the wash action. It is a fauxgitator. Better you should have spent the bucks on the Maytag COMMERCIAL model MVWP575GW 0r the Speed Queen AWN632SP116TW01.

Wouldn't the agitator work better if there weren't so much water in the machine? It seems that the clothes just get to floating around in all that water. Maybe with less water they would be pulled into the agitator more as opposed to floating away. Just a guess. I don't have this (or any!) wash machine right now. My wife saw it and we bought it for $399.00 and brought it home. The first time I used it I was not satisfied and since I had no manual (used) went on you tube for some pointers. The horror stories about it being junk and clothes not even getting wet all the way through made me think I had made a bad mistake. Now after three months using it and learning to trust the machine we absolutely love it. My brand new Maytag top load HE washer is a complete lemon. when i wash bedding it makes these horrible banging noises, requires me to babysit the machine while it refills the basket TEN TIMES or more trying to "rebalance." using way more water than an old school washer. when i wash clothes they leave soil residue in the creases of the clothes. I have used this washer for over a year and every single time i try to wash a cotton blanket or cotton comforter it makes these horrible banging noises and even after repositioning the items multiples times it still fails to balance EVERY TIME. and when the machine tells me it's done the blankets are still soaking wet and smell like sweaty soiled clothes because it never gets properly agitated or spun/drained. The machine tells me it's done but the clothes smell like sweat and dead skin and are dripping wet, obvious signs of a deficient washer. can't clean and can't spin dry. so now i'm drying a soaking wet blanket for over THREE HOURS in the dryer that smells like dirty clothes because the washer told me it is "done" because it simply stops attempting to spin after multiple attempts. I cannot wait for a class action lawsuit against Maytag top loader HE washers, they are the worst in the world. I will never buy anything Maytag as long as I live and will tell everyone I talk to about how bad Maytag is. NEVER MAYTAG, THE WORST BRAND OF WASHING MACHINE EVER MADE. I cannot wait until the class action lawsuit arrives. Maytag you deserve what happens to you for selling a lemon, you complete and utter scumbags. AVOID MAYTAG AT ALL COSTS. Also their dryer is way too hot at the "low" setting, burns my clothes. worst company ever. and they don't even honor their heavily advertised warranties because MAYTAG is complete scum.

Are these top loaders also available with heating rods. I've always wanted a US top loader. Maytag has an online shop in Germany. I see that you Americans all have cold water and hot water connections. In Europe we only have cold water and our front loaders heat the water to the desired temperature and maintain that temperature. 68°F, 86°F, 140°F, 194°F Because of the chaotic government in Germany and the rising gas and electricity prices, I'm considering that my next washing machine will be a US top-loader, so I heat the water in large pots on the stove and pour it into the top-loader. But these US top loaders should have heating elements, at least to keep the temperature. I would be happy if you could give me information about this. Greetings from Germany.

We bought this model & size Maytag top load washing machine on November 27, 2017 and it started acting up on January 27, 2022 and now is no longer working as of today (Feb 1,2022). It worked “okay” these past 4 years but, was disappointed in the “what we thought was an agitator.” These new digital appliances are just not made like they used to be in the “old days!” The old Maytags used to last for decades and never had to be serviced. Now a days all things you buy are digital, made of plastic and just lasts a few years...if that! We live in a “throw away” world. It costs more to service things than to throw them away and buy a new one. I just called a local appliance store today to schedule our washer to be serviced on Feb 4, 2022. I was told it is out of warranty already. Amazing how a brand new $549 Maytag washer lasts only 4 years and 2 months now a days! We shall see if they can fix it. I think we will try buying a front load type washer next time. The same goes for our dryer! It is not a Maytag brand (think it is a White Electric or General Electric???) but we have had to get it serviced many times and I think we are going to need to replace it very soon. It looks like it may be a fire hazard as our clothes get so hot you can’t touch them right away! Even the inside of the dryer is starting to blacken in the back holes vent area of the drum. They just don’t make things like they used to...that’s for sure!

@@joanncarl4734 It's a sad state of affairs today with just about anything we buy. Something ironic is in the beginning you say you bought it because you've got a larger family then towards the end you say it's best for medium to small loads. I personally don't care for these machines just because of how the agitator is. They only went halfway on it. The top corkscrew should only spin in once direction on ucbing the clothes down to the washplate but instead they made it all one peice so it doesn't provide good rollover. When showing that large load you can clearly see it pull clothes under then push them right up. I feel if they truly implemented the center post style agitator and made it a 2 peice assembly this machine would perform a ton better on heavy and or large loads.
@Allkindsofstuff
@Allkindsofstuff 5 жыл бұрын
I have learned a lot since purchasing this machine. You are correct this is advertised by Maytag as an agitator machine, which I would say is is not. Center stack should only rotate one direction, not back and forth. That's why in the video you don't see the wash load have any roll over. Maytag does make a more expensive machine that has true duel action agitator. Model # MVWP575GW. I would have bought this machine had I seen it. Its harder to find and not sold at most major retailers. Runs about $900.00. Thanks

@@Allkindsofstuff yeah it's machines like this that make people think all top loaders are bad. Oh I've seen a few videos about those! Those are their commerical grade washers. Everything is beefer in them as well plus they use a real centerpost agitator. It's actually an old Kenmore auger design so you know it's gonna be good. Only thing I don't really like about them is how the water levels are built into the cycle selection knob and you only have 2 levels half full or 3/4 full. Also don't like the glass lid, preferring instead a porcelain-on-steel lid that I don't have to worry about setting stuff on top of if I need to. Noise level on a washer doesn't bother me as with my utility room doors closed I can't hear the loudest of washers, only knowing when it's reached the rinse cycle when I hear the sink gurgling. I think I'll get a speed queen TC5 as it can wash a load in half the time. You talk about it struggling with a heavy load yet you state that you wanted the large capacity which doesn't make sense if you don't regularly utilize it. The SQ is only 3.2 CF but at 30 minutes a load it can wash 6.4 CF in close to the same amount of time that Maytag can do 1 full load of 4.7 CF and the SQ is made in the USA as well.
